    My Mk2 VR6

Update time. So the head is pretty much done. The head was bolted to the block using new head bolts, along with the MK4 triple layer headgasket in hindsight i wish i went for ARP headbolts. But, ill upgrade to that when i eventually turbo it. Next up it was fitting new timing chains, guides and tensioner. Also gave the chain cover a lick of paint

    VR6 Auto gearbox

My auto box was awful when i got the car. It was in limp mode and needed attention. by the sounds of it you can quite easily sort your problems out. If your remove the gearbox you will get to the torque converter and there are many companies which recondition these, i used these guys and they were great http://www.automatic-gearbox.co.uk/ costing roughly £150. My wiring harness on the valve body had snapped so needed replacing, very easy to do just 4 bolts to remove the sump and then you have access. If the valve body has issues you can remove it quite easily following this guide http://forum

double check but I remember reading in the bentley manual that the auto boxes (096 and 01M) used on the vr6's are the same as used on some smaller engined golfs. what's wrong with yours? you can get the rebuilt to give peace of mind or try ebay

    My Mk2 VR6

Got the inlet manifold shot blasted. I was going to get it powder coated but, i ended up polishing the runners and rattle canned the rest. What PITA it was to polish! Shot blasted During polishing Polish complete The pictures actually do this justice lol. By far not a perfect finish, but im happy with it and it looks awesome! Finished look: Gearbox was attached along with a reconditioned alternator and starter motor. Starter motor bolt had to be cut for the DZL box to fit Inlet bolted on. Was a joy to see how far its come! Some before and after pics of the block Cheeky

    My Mk2 VR6

Gave the sump a clean up and attached it the engine with a new gasket also the rocker cover with new gasket New inlet runner gasket Fitted the inlet runner and fuel rail installed after a lick of paint. Note the lightweight water pump pulley, had issues with this which ill touch upon shortly... But first, i received my lightened flywheel! Be interested to see how this feels. Bolted up using ARP bolts Replaced the plastic crack pipe with a metal one and new seals, it looks so much better and considering it was an ebay buy it was a great fit. Fitted the SP high flow water pump as

  11. vibratechnic are one of the best front mounts you can get, makes a big difference and reduces engine movement when pulling off. Standard mounts are a honey comb style and causes a lot of engine movement - I would not expect any cabin vibration from just a front mount - you would get more of an increased vibration when a rear mount is fitted too. vibratechnic are not a solid mount and allows for small movement... I would 100% keep the front mount. Here's the sales blurb: The Golf front mount reacts a large proportion of the accelaration and overrun torque and has to carry a proportion

Good TUPTUSIE, the situation is bad but not tragically, namely the day slip, today little-ridden and poorly tried all I will have to make up for it tomorrow. Honed, then founded a new land on the ground then founded the Filler spray because they no longer had the patience to traditionally photograph below illustrates what and how, the last foty is the color on which you're wondering, silver metallic-catching slightly in the green.
