    Corrado VR6

Long time forum member but never posted so thought I would post my corrado project. Ran it with a few mods for a few years (coils, schmidts, exhaust etc). Then I got the power itch...Viw28 old engine came up for grabs so I took it and has been in a garage ever since. Building as I can afford it atm. Custom intercooler and rad recently made. In the process of powdercoating and polybushing the front end of the motor, Airride, all new brakes and exhaust. New wheels in pipeline also

I certainly did. I will get pictures up shortly. Had a right nightmare with it. The guy who was selling it was a right moron. Day before I picked it up it had an 'mot' which I passed no problem. On way We heard a weird nose coming from the back end. We proceeded. Anyway my friend had a look over it to sort out the rear bearing only to find that the only thinking keeping the Hub attached to the rear was the split pin. Suspension was wrangling it's bag off. Was horrendous. Of course the guy denied all knowledge etc etc anyway it's sorted now. New hubs and pads all

Hi guys I'm new to the vr6. I don't actually own it yet lol. I'm due to be picking it up on Tuesday. So would like a bit of information. It's done 130k completely standard obd2 high line. Only upgrade is a Direnze exhaust. Had new clutch slave and master cylenders, welding on sills etc slight bit of lacquer peel but nothing major. Guy wants 1400 quid. I think it's bit of a steel. Full 12 months motWhat do you think? Any information is gratefully received

Cheers Pete. Not that much to be honest. It's been rather good! The clutch slave cyl was leaking, resulting in having to pump up the clutch every morning so that was changed for the 2nd time. New discs, pads and bearings on the rear as they were looking a bit shitty! And just the routine services really It's currently off the road as I'm planning to tidy the engine bay up a bit more and do some bodywork I've been meaning to do.

  19. not got round to changing the coils yet as car hadn't been misbehaving but as of this morning it now starts then cuts out straight away if you apply the throttle or after a few seconds in idle, plugged the laptop in as well as the original codes I posted above it is now showing 16785 and 17819 which from what I've found are to do with the secondary air injection system any ideas if this is the cause of the stalling or is it due to the problem with the coils/plugs? any help appreciated Neil

  20. Mine did exactly the same when it got hot - turned over without starting. Left it to cool off 10 mins and it was fine. Also, a few cutouts - including one on the M6!!! - again, after a few minutes it would start and run for a few more minutes. That was a long drive home after work... Checked resistance of sensor and it was within spec, but that was off the car and cold. Had a spare old one, swapped it in, no more problems after that. Don't think they're outrageous to buy new, just a bit of an effort to fit - especially if you're lowered... Might also think of ignition swi

  21. Hi Daveyboy. Honestly not got much done. Looms away now being done. Bit of a wait but will be done properly. When the weathers a bit warmer I can get back to the Moto commute and take the golf off the road. Everything parts wise in the garage, just the usual busy busy. I'm going to say by end of March it'll be under way. 👷

  23. Check out my build thread on here. Mine is the 24v engine with a GT3582r .82 and I'm at full boost by 3k rpm and seems to not run out of puff at redline. This was low'ish boost around 12-13 psi

  30. Id give stealth a ring. I'm using mk4 management so might as well use the 4 as theyre there anyway, not really about needing them. I guess it would map better as has more info from lambdas...? Partial guess there.
