  3. Now some things are capable James but his car being there isn't one. Youve more chance of platting a turd mate. Hey he's coming to Tatton park aswell. 2 shows in one year could mean a non attendance in 2017. [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji106]

    Newbie...

Hi, I'm new here. Based in Leeds, West Yorkshire, and I'm picking up a 2002 VR6 4motion on Friday. 70k, silver, black leather, cruise, heated seats, 1 previous owner. I had a standard 1.6 Golf before, but never one of these! What should I expect/look out for? I know it may seem daft asking but hey, I'm new to all this...Thanks in advance, Greg

  9. Hey, Dave might be there but as soon as anyone goes near him, like to say hello or something, he'll be off like a shot! Be nice to see his car too, if it's under its own steam again!!! [emoji1362][emoji2]

  15. Generally they are reliable, but depends on how well maintained they have been. At 100k me personally would be looking to address the following areas if not done so already. Timing Chains (Check for the distinctive chain rattle - gearbox side, between 1,000RPM - 1,500 RPM) Coolant System Overhaul (Check fan speeds operating, and no signs of coolant leaks, generally leaks can come from thermostat house, crack pipe, oil cooler etc..) Head Gasket (If not replaced already, could be a concern with 100k on the clock) Exhaust valve guides / seals if smoking on over-run (

  19. Thanks for the comments. Yes it's been a long hard road but has been worth it every time I get in it and drive it. Probably could have been done quicker but kids, money, work gets in the way! Parts, I've had from various places. A lot of items custom manufacturered. Such as green steel brake lines, fuel tank straps etc.. Has been a great journey so far and being part ifs club helps massively. Onwards and upwards with added boost in a few weeks hopefully!

  20. Looks a very basic amateur website. Probably something the owner does on the side. That said 2 days isn't a great amount of time so give it a few more days
