    Newbie pics....

Hi, further to my 'newbie' post, here's some pics of the car I got on Friday. 2002, Alpha silver, 70k, cruise, aircon, heated black leather seats, 1 owner, fsh, all receipts/paperwork. Really pleased with her. Just need to put some hours cleaning inside and out, should come up a treat with no crashes, dents or dings. Badge missing off of front grille...

    OBD1 / 2 clocks

Can anyone tell me if OBD2 clocks will work in a OBD1 car before I go to the trouble of pulling my clocks out.

    OBD1 / 2 clocks

Thanks, I can finally have a MFA screen I can read, there's only 400 miles difference between the clocks, and I don't need them for my mk2, so i'll stick them in. What's the difference in the gti clocks pete out of interest?

    Poly Bushing!!!

As above, I was dubious about that amount of money on some pretty coloured poly/rubber under my car that I wont even see.. Now I wont be without them. Make a huge difference and give the old VRs a new car feel with tightness on the road. Same with engine mounts, vibratech ones compared to standard is just ridiculous.. but all worth it for a keeper car..

They are the same. Only difference are between GTI clocks and VR6 ones.

  9. I have removed all the cam bearing caps and they are showing signs of slight wear. I am just waiting on a bore mic to check they are still within spec. Other than that I am just working on borrowing a leak down tester to make sure I haven't done any lasting damage to the cylinders. Just crossing fingers and toes that I can just throw a new cam in it and it will be all good. Worst case scenario it has scrapped the block and the head, if thats happened i think I will be calling it a day!!!

  14. I know the feeling of being stabbed by them. Also don't cut braided hoses with a saw buddy, all the end's fray like mad. Even if you do tape it up. Use a decent pair of heavy duty snips. Or a braided hose cutter. Thats how I cut mine anyway, I learnt not to uses a saw after making my first one.

    What turbo for my VR6/R32?

Cheers Cabbs. Times the flow rate by 10 to get a rough estimate of max hp rates here - it's actually more like times by 9-11 which depends on the efficiency of your set up but use as a guide. EDIT; Oldy ref!

  20. Nice man, braided hoses are much better There not to hard to make your self, with slight different fittings. You could of made them with a vice, AN fittings, and a spanner. It's not to hard, I've made loads for my air ride, external oil cooler, power steering.

    General Rant

This is just a general rant about the number of people on here who waste your time. I was under the impression that this was a 'club', and therefore that people would generally relate to each other and be helpful to their fellow VR6ers. I have to say that this hasn't been my experience over the past 12 months or so. People post parts for sale, I reply to their message on the forum... then nothing. So I tried PM'ing people instead... nothing. So I tried contacting the mobile numbers on listings.... ignored. Texts, phone calls, you name it - no reply. Alternatively I'm offered some BS abou
