VR6 Supercharged and 2 others reacted to bennyk for a topic
Took the VR to Players Classic this weekend, was an absolutely brilliant show with a great mix of cars, on show and on track, it's also at Goodwood which is a beautiful place! Can't wait until next year, a highly recommended show![emoji1360] Also got a couple of 'proper' pics of the car taken;3 points -
Just a quick one the club stand is back on folks. We need 10 cars for the stand preferably for both Saturday and Sunday. We need to make sure we fill the stand as the organisers have made an exception for us2 points

I have just had a look and I think I will book family and bring my caravan and truck! Here's another bloody bombshell my eldest daughter is going to stay with friends in Australia for 5 weeks and arrives back on the Saturday!! I will have to drop caravan and VR off early doors Saturday then unhitch the caravan from my truck and leave for Manchester about 2pm and grab the daughter! She will be well happy all that flying and jet lag! Straight to a car show hahaha1 point

Al's mk3 vr6 turbo build
Neil20vtc reacted to al_mooring for a topic
Wow haven't updated this in a while. Not much has happened in the last 6 months although ssautowerks have made a really nice job of the cage and got my CAE shifter base plate seam welded in. Also had a quick mock up with the six speed box and turbo ready for the manifold to be fabricated Also having them fabricate a tubular front end so we can maximise the size of the intercooler and radiator and also been able to ditch the horrible plastic front panel.1 point -

Timing chain on 4motion
Daverse reacted to MK4motionVR6 for a topic
Hey fella I really wouldn't worry too much as there's a lot people being way overzealous on this subject... There's also a whole lot of misinterpreted information on the technicalities of the infamous vr6 timing chains i.e. Stretching! 1st of all chains do not stretch... This is a myth, however they can & do wear out, the way in which a chain wears is in the side to side movement of each link. The parts that tend to wear out in the motor are the guilds & tensioners causing the chains to become slacker which can eventually effect the timing, especially on the 24valvers due to them hav1 point -
