  1. Good evening Guys, Well its been a while since we featured a members car so getting back into the swing of things this is going to be one of many. If you've taken a shine or special interest in a members car like we at VR6OC did with this one and think there car would be worthy of a feature then please drop me a private message. This members car was picked for the shear dedication, effort, time, money and I guess many many man hours that has gone into the build. The build has been followed by myself and probably many of you and I can say without question this car is goin

  2. Excellent thread, i'm looking at buying a 4Mo and this has been very useful One thing worth mentioning though, you should never mix DOT 4 and DOT 5 fluid due to DOT 5 being silicone based. According to Wikipedia: DOT 5 is one of several North American designations of automotive hydraulic brake fluid, denoting a particular mixture of chemicals imparting specified ranges of boiling point. DOT 5 is a silicone-based brake fluid (contains at least 70% by weight of a diorgano polysiloxane[1]). Unlike polyethylene glycol based fluids, Dot 5 is hydrophobic.[2] An adva

  4. The car is worth more to you than anyone else. Your bills will be cut in half if you do the work yourself. Everything you've mentioned is DIY work and with the help of our members on here you will get by. What you need to realise is.... A VR6 is a money pit. Haha. You can never spend enough money on them but they are a car that will put a smile on your face. A big smile. A start would be to find some dry storage whilst you make your decision. Another good start would be to research every job needed and the tools to do that job and firstly check out the extent of any rust because bodywork isn't

  6. Damn right it's worth doing!! Not many in that colour either, timing chain is a serviceable part like anything if the oil changes have been neglected it won't last as long as one that hasn't, it will have an obvious scratching type noise from the gear box side as its on that side on these

  10. A bit more work done this afternoon. Engine sounded proper funky on start up. Was nearly match in tank time. However she come good in the end. Fitted some Samco hoses that where on the donor car I bought and two window regulators sorted. So all I am waiting on is carpets and interior a wheel that's with the repairers and its MOT time I hope. More importantly detailing time as she is filthy and its hurting me to look at it in this state. Cheers for popping in! [emoji106]?

  11. Went out for a nice drive in the black VR, now that I've finished all the new water system, and oil cooler set up, and run much cooler, I may swap back to the original fan switch, instead of the low temp switch. As the fans are almost constantly on, and they don't need to be, now I have the bigger rad and external oil cooler. Temporarily using a spare de-badged grill I had, while I re-paint my original grill.

  14. New over sized expansion tank, to go with my over sized rad. May not look as nice and minimal as a top fill, But will work much better with my new rad and hose setup. Another few custom silicone coolant hoses on order. Not much else has happens lately mainly because I've been mocking up the hoses, to get custom ones made, plus I've bought another VR! See my other build - Mulberry Highline daily.
