Been trying to get somewhere with this, as people keep pestering me to buy it![emoji15][emoji23] Got it serviced and the plugs changed, they looked like they'd been in the a while![emoji15] Removed a few bits of trim including the rear spoiler to make a nicer job of claying and machine polishing; Whilst it was off used an old trick with a hot air gun to bring it back to life, before; Then half way through; Then broke the mop out to see how it was going to come up, Quite nice was the answer to that![emoji7] Love mystic blue! This believe it or not was all of the rust on one of the ORIGINA1 point

You'll be surprised though, that's why I'm asking. I've been seeing nice mk1's and 2's going for £6-8k on stock engine good nick but not even showroom condition. These type's of conversions were £6k for a 150hp one pretty much when I was doing them 5-10 years ago and even now they seem to still be £4k+ and we're trying to work out some decent costings as they're getting loads of interest - thought I would look for an impartial VR owner view point! I think figures bandied about are like £3k for a 150/180 to £3.5k or so for a ko4 set-up, I can map them up to a Stage 1 too for like £1 point

I've been trying to sort a decent DIY turbo kit out recently for in-between £2-3k but those are for mk4's - I've had a few of you come to me with 12v's using the Holset HX35/40's and most of you build them for under £4k, really depends how much work you want to do yourself. There's a few local VAG lads here pushing nigh on 300hp on 20vt Corrado's/ mk1 Scirocco's etc for well under £2k all in, but doing everything in-house themselves and I sort the maps as I owe them free work, so it doesn't have to cost a bomb to do it well. If I was you and with you being a Scooby owner you'd pref1 point
