  3. Hi there, I just wanted you to know that I was here lurking around because I too have a vehicle based forum using IPS Version 4 and I thought your site was a good example for me to learn from. I am in the process of upgrading from V3 to V4. During that process I noticed that you have the same issue I have when it comes to displaying the "Location" information in the members area below their Avatar on posts. There is a suspicious 'space' missing between location and the actual location. I've attached two pics, one with the space and one without. The reason I'm pointing this out is that I found

  4. Thanks for the reply Pete [emoji1360] I may put the pcv breather hose back in but the way I deleted it would make it impossible for any kind of oil to make it in to the intake manifold. Only smokes when the motor warms up. I don't hear any piston slap whatsoever. It's just odd that it smokes at idle if it is the valve stem seals. The oil that is in it is 15w40 non synthetic Thanks for the advice on everything Pete [emoji1360] I will be seeing what number she gives me in each cylinder after work

  5. Hi buddy. Doesn't sound good! Blue smoke as you know indicates oil being burnt. but on idle sounds pretty bad. Are you using a lot of oil? With you mentioned about the PCV delete, it could be throwing oil back into the intake manifold causing it to burn more oil, so I would personally restore the PCV valve to rule that out initially and check if you have oil re-circulating into your inlet manifold, of course you mentioned you used to get light blue smoke when warmed up, rings should seal a bit better when up to temp so unless you are hearing any slap when warming up it

  6. We have the Leeds festival next weekend. Starts Friday and ends Sunday. Get up there and meet the crew. Probably the best show of the year. You can pay on the gate if you want to come for the day or grab a ticket online. [emoji106]

    New boy V6 4 motion

So is it over heating? The fans run at a low speed when the ac is on then come on when it gets to a certain temp, normally they don't work at all common fault with them control units, as for the oil leak ideas on where it's coming from,?!

  8. So I replaced the coilover springs made a bracket for the throttle cable Made some inlet piping with plumbing for the recirc valve and isv Welded the fittings for the afr and cars lambda probes Then after plumbing everything up I have had the thing running properly and moving under its own steam for the first time in about 3 years was nice to see it outside! Unfortunately though just as I thought it was ready to go in for its mot the car started leaking oil which I thought was the sump gasket so replaced but still leaking so thought it must be the crank seal so off came the box clutch

    What would you pay?

You'll be surprised though, that's why I'm asking. I've been seeing nice mk1's and 2's going for £6-8k on stock engine good nick but not even showroom condition. These type's of conversions were £6k for a 150hp one pretty much when I was doing them 5-10 years ago and even now they seem to still be £4k+ and we're trying to work out some decent costings as they're getting loads of interest - thought I would look for an impartial VR owner view point! I think figures bandied about are like £3k for a 150/180 to £3.5k or so for a ko4 set-up, I can map them up to a Stage 1 too for like £
