Thanks. I had built a Vrt engine and I'm having problems with it so I wanted to get my golf running again my friend had a spare 2.9 engine.

I did this very conversion not too long ago. I sourced a donor car and just dropped the complete engine, sub frame, drive shafts, bigger brakes and everything out in one go and bolted it straight into the Cabby. You'd be daft not to use the rear axle from the VR as you'll get a disc brake rear end .
