    Unfortunately there's no such thing as a low cost turbo build (apart from the build Jim Potter did on here turbo'ing for less than a grand). You'll want a spacer plate at least to lower compression and ARP head bolts and rod bolts to prevent any head lift and stress on rods. I have a supercharged application running 294bhp but even that requires bigger injectors (330 cc) and updated fuel pump. What is your budget ?

    There is no definitive cut over point from when VW switched from double to single top chain. I have seen both 1997 VR's with single and double top chain! You wont be able to use the single as you would also need to change to single pulley setup as well, take the chains back and get the right ones for your engine code, also recommend running later mk4 guide as they are more durable.

    Does the float in the tank raise and lower? What happens if you lift float till it hits top of tank ? Does the gauge read half way or higher?

    Got a new problem with the Corrado today. Symptom is that when I pull the door handle it suddenly becomes stiff until I give it a good hard pull and doesn't seem right and have the feeling something is going to break. What could be wrong here and is it likely break ? [emoji23][emoji23] Cheers Pete

    Hey @Rocky welcome aboard. Classic diff rivets failing there then, would recommend to replace with ARP hardware if you are planning on stripping. Get some photos up too in members ride section.

    Glad you are enjoying it There is no doubt that it will drive really well. what is the tax like on the newer models?

    Few things that could affect idle. - Vacuum leak (I.E to FPR, damaged gasket on inlet etc... usually spraying some carb cleaner etc... will identify any vacuum leaks in the engine bay but there are other methods too). - MAF (doesn't always throw up an error code) can throw another one on relativly cheap - I pay no more than £20 for second hand OBD2 MAF's. - Fuel Pressure - Pump maintaining flow ? FPR Ok? - Are you running stock cams?

    Would always recommend to have a remap as opposed to an off the shelf chip, some ECU's will need soldering a socket into them. I would recommend stealth racing, but notice you are in Belfast. @VIW28 lives over that way and may be able recommend some tuners who are more local to you.

    Minimum 18" on vortech. May not be as bad on the z engineering mine. The key was to get an "s" shape could have got smaller length in but certainly doesn't hurt..: unless you drive through flood water ? Then it sucks like a dyson V6 haha so think ahead with position.
