  1. I'd have just walked away, sounds like your typical back street sales man wanting everything for nothing
  2. Hi everyone. I mentioned this at our rolling road day, so here's a bump for the making of an epic weekend !
  3. Worth noting you don't get oil cooler hoses in the kit, but highly recommend you purchase these separately as these will become the weak point once you replace the other hoses. The part numbers are TB0580 and TB0581 and will come to around £24, you can get them from Merlin Motorsport.
  4. I have the same on my Corrado, and it still works perfectly, I just needed to chop the bonnet switch into the engine harness again. Didn't have to touch anything else, but the OBD2 ecu will have an imob, so if your car starts for a couple of seconds and cuts out, and VAG-COM indicates "engine start blocked by immobilizer" then that's your problem
  5. sounds great! It's a great show, and full of air-cooled stuff, camper vans etc... love it! I'll confirm that people who have registered are still planning to attend, and I will look at extending our club display if further interest is shown
  6. should be straight forward mate, do you have all the alarm gubbings as the OBD2 ECU will need the key chip, transponder, alarm box from the same car you had the ECU from. only other option is to send to stealth and get immobilizer function deleted
  7. Good Stuff I have 5 spaces booked for the display, so will communicate out closer to the time as a reminder of this event Thanks for your support!
  8. nope, just loom from back of fuse box, to multi-plug on engine, and the engine harness needs to be replaced with your OBD2, lamba is different, so is the MAF, throttle body, possibly the FCM too, late VR's also had 3 sensors on the thermostat housing.. the loom can be fed through the gromit into the cabin, but I had to remove brake servo to get access.
  9. Hi mate, it should be fairy plug and play if you have the bits... might be easier to start with what bits you have already. I did an obd1 to obd2 upgrade on my corrado, but its much easier on a Golf
