Sounds like a bad earth or an issue with your yellow temp sensor on the thermostat housing... It would be impossible for the guage to go to the top when battery is disconnected... Not unless it's jammed somehow? -
It's on the schimmel performance 263 / 268 group buy thread. First post in group buy forum mate. Honestly it's pointless just remapping if your considering cams in the future as you'd need remap it again to get the most out of them... 263's have given upto 20bhp on some corrados with proven before and after rolling road results ordered a set myself and stealth currently building me my 3.68FD gearbox too..

Remap, I'd only bother after fitting a good assortment of na mods... Cams are your best bet... Get on the group buy, stealth are doing a fitting and remap deal.

Yeah earlier VR's had alloy cam covers, later replaced with plastic as they are quiter. Not sure about your exhaust manifold? Any pics? -

mate, like i've on more than one occasion, these are REAL people, not automated, its impossible to stop real people from posting on a public forum.... They post from different IP's that appear to come from europe, so cant block by country and they connect via proxies from outside of China - therefore if i blocked these IP ranges most of europe wont be able to connect to the site. Every moderator on here has the ability to use the forum tools to remove spam easily, and this is what we are currently doing as the only way to address is to be re-active as opposed to being pro-active.... sorry,

not alot you can you apart from delete.... these guys use proxy servers so even i block china IP addresses they appear to come from else where... just gotta keep deleting them!

Sounds possible you have a fault code but as you don't have a light your unaware. It's now an MOT re quirement that the abs light comes on and goes out so something you'll need to sort out before your next MOT. I'm in stoke and have Obd2 vag com if you get stuck! I'm sure there's a few more people with vag com though up your way

Have you thought of running it through Vag com. Usually the ABS is quite sensitive and would report an error. Does your light come on and go off with the ignition? It does a self test, if there's a fault detected the light would stay on. Seems unusual if the light comes on then off and the ABS doesn't work properly

you just need to enclose them in the IMG tags if your jailbroken you can upload images directly into the forum from your phone, or as craig says use photobucket, i prefer picup as its easy and dont have to sign up for another website

thermostat is the way forward, you can buy DIY kits to test for presence of exhaust gasses in your header tank.

Check voltage to the motor with multi meter, if no voltage check switch and fuse. Can't really be much else -

You will probably befefit from a 4 wheel alignment from places such as stealth once you have replaced all those said components, if your rear axel bushes and wishbones aint been done yet, id get those done first, also check ARB drop links too.
