Don't bother with the 10.4 wires. Not needed. Just a good set of quality cables and spark plugs. Besides the 10.4 will not fit in the guides on the engine cover and look awful
-
There's different FCM for air con / non air con models. I would advise to compare the plugs on the underside of the FCM but personally I would be looking for same part number ??

Hey. You probably won't get anything with just updated plug cables. I've not heard of any mods to move the manifold temp sensor, although I have heard of swapping for a 1.8T. But again you are talking very little gains. Can you tell us more about any mods you've done ? You would be far better off at looking at mods like cam shafts, exhausts, intake etc with remap. Or things such as 3.68 final drive for gearbox or possibly forced induction. All depends what your end game is / how deep your pockets are. Pete

Pete's OBD2 Corrado VR6 - On The Road
VR6Pete replied to VR6Pete's topic in Members Rides and Event Photos
It's done well for original alternator. Halfords was an hour away and the bolt in the old alternator was just spinning in the case due to already being cracked, so there was no hope besides time was ticking and as soon as we finished fixing it up at just after 9pm jumped in the car and drove 300 miles home [emoji85] just needed take the quickest route to get the job done -

Smaller wheels needed (I think)
VR6Pete replied to Chilliman's topic in Wheels, Brakes, Suspension and Steering
Hi buddy. Ok, yes recommend going back to sensible sizes wheels, 17" look good but will affect handling, to give you an idea I have 15" on my corrado with coilovers and handles exceptionally well! If you have stock shocks with lowered springs then as you mention will not be the best! depends on your budget but a good set of coilovers on a VR6 (golf or corrado etc..) makes the world of difference - Recommend KW1's / Koni etc... Play in top mounts - can you describe? when on the ground the top bush will sit slightly proud of the strut, and when on full lock w -
Was watching an old episode of wheeler dealer tonight with the Corrado VR6. It had an ABS pump fault which Mike Brewer took to BBA Reman to repair. At the time of filming, the inspection fee was around £35 to identify faults and repaired for around £159. Thought this would be useful for some people should they have issues and require a repair. Product Description This is a “magic” box !! Its a dual purpose unit and has 2 modules in it, digital>analog + cylinder conversion. It’s used for many applications, putting a VR6/1.8t/TDI/2.0 into a mk1/2 and retaining your factory cluster. (However if you wanted to drop an ls1 into your mk1 and drive the stock tach, this will do it for you) This module will allow your factory cluster to read the correct rpm of the engine. It will save time on not having to do a dash swap or retrofitting the 6 cylinder cluster and allow you to maintain that stock sleeper look inside your mk1 or mk

Take a look at this: http://s-pautomotive.com/?product=digital-to-analog-tach-adapter-module-with-cylinder-converter-combo Looks to cover VR6, but no mention of R32 I'm afraid so possibly worth speaking to them direct.

You can never have enough VR6's! I need to do some major body work with mine next year, especially on the same rear quarter. Dreading it! Feel free post the bonnet cables in the for sale section

nice motor mate, welcome to the club!

Aux water pump running after ignition off is normal. I don't think the water bottle would be an issue to be honest as long as its holding pressure. Have you managed to get to the bottom of this yet? Perhaps it could be water pump related, have you checked fins on the pump are all in tact?

Coilover on Mk3 Vr6
VR6Pete replied to GREEN97VR6's topic in Wheels, Brakes, Suspension and Steering
Running KW1's on mine. Highly recommended as they have chrome body and still look like new 8 years later
