  1. Ok you clever people. Let's try some more :-)
  2. You all secret rice lovers? ? just stole it off car throttle ?
  3. How many cars can you identify from just the rear tail lights? Winner gets a punch in the arm [emoji23][emoji23]
  4. You've been busy glad you have not given up and ploughed ahead with it mate Have you managed get oil leak sorted now?
  5. Well all depends on how deep your pocket is If you are UK based then Stealth Racing do a drive in / out service for around 5k for a 12v - highly recommended unless you want to do DIY. Depending on if your car is 12v now or 24v probably would dictate the direction you take, but assure you that you can get good reliable power from a 12v 400BHP~ Most people running big power in 24v R32 lumps tend to put in the crank from a 12v anyway as its stronger. I have a standard lump with supercharger, schimmel 263 cams, 6 branch running 9PSI and 294BHP which
  6. Are you looking at Turbo or Supercharging @brans?
  7. Someone not able handle the power? [emoji85]
  8. So managed to track down a new idler pulley ! Hopefully get it fitted this weekend and get boosting again ?? Also managed pick up some power flex rest axel bushes for £48 quid from car parts 4 less using discount code FAST10. Bargain, can't wait get them fitted as old ones seen better days. Not a job ill be doing myself though oh no ! Sunroof also broke on Sunday after VWNW ? so will be replacing the troublesome Corrado cassette with a golf mk3 item and using a Passat b4 moon roof glass. Should be a nice upgrade.
  9. Bridge the plug on the connector to the thermo switch. If fans operate then replace the switch
  10. Hi Ben, Welcome along! Firstly, All VR6's used Timing chains VW Stated they never needed to be chained (liars!) Buit recommend any time after 100k, you should be good, unless you can hear some chain noise between 1,000 - 2,000 RPM (Example sound clip here: http://www.vr6oc.com/guides/sound/Chain.wma) From my vast experience I would suggest an independent specialist to do the work, there are various DIY guides on here available should you wish to get your hands dirty!! Would suggest genuine parts from TPS, but with all the guides, chains, runners
  11. Any plans to stock Synta Silver 10/40 @oilman ?
  12. Hi mate. Even if you do find one laying around I can gurantee it will be as brittle as the one that presumably snapped on yours. I'm sure if you search on here there are alternative parts from other cars available. However consider the Chinese silicon hoses off eBay. They are cheap and many people on here are running them without issue. Quality is fine and they are cheaper than the draft 42 alloy version. Pete
  13. Pretty sure it has Theres a guy on here possibly @sleepymike Take a look at his build thread
  14. Seems ok to me. Number 1 a little low but not unusual. I would say that it's looking more like the valve guides and possible time to look at valve guides, although I can't think of anything that could cause it to only smoke once warmed up [emoji849]
  15. Just bare engine will be fine, you'll need the AAA manifold and engine loom off the 2.8 lump. To be honest I wouldn't recommend it if your 2.8 is fine as often than not most Corrado engines are thrashed and bores shot. Whats the reason for wanting to swap out?

  17. Wish my garage would look like that
  18. hey mate. Should do a club day at yours! I organized a few when I was rebuilding the corrado and managed to get a lot done over the course of a few weekends! You'll have to check the member map and see who's need, oh of course and supply the beers
  19. It is normal for the coolant to raise in the bottle when hot, and hoses would go harder, but wouldn't expect to be hard the following day! If you are running the black coolant cap they were prone to failure on the pressure relief system in the cap. If you are running the black cap, then update to the later blue one from VW with a much improved design. It does sound like there is a possible air lock in the system and the coolant is not circulating (if all is well you should see it re-circulating into the coolant bottle from the smaller hose). Try running the
  20. Hi @Halfling - sorry have been on holiday and only just seen this! Many thanks for your suggestion, I will take a look! What forum do you run? If you need any advice please let me know
  21. probably worth taking a photo of the said bolt To me sounds like oil cooler but unsure without pictures. as @mattvr6 said the control modules are common fault, there are DIY repair kits available and likely to resolve your issue, but possibly other things to check such as thermo switches, sensors etc..
