    It's not the end of the world - and I'm sure in true British fashion we will show our true British resolve and make the best of this. If we can go through 2 world wars I'm sure we can all get through this.

    I just hope that everyone can unite together despite peoples personal and political views. What is important right now is that we unite as a county and stick together and stablise the economy, I think short term is will be difficult but in years to come will be a good thing for our country.

    Looks like standard rust - will need 2 new wings, and arches - possibly may need a new rear arches if they are bad - thing to bare in mind as they are double skinned need to ensure all rust is tackled with. Id be also inclined to look at the sills on that (hidden under the plastics) and underneath the car. Any photos of the engine bay? If you can get it for that price it would be a safe risk to take - but obviously factor in any work that may need to be done mechanically etc... but you wont know until its been through an MOT! Pete

    A lot of people sell their VR6's and go to other cars in the same performance bracket only to come back to the VR6. I've just strapped a supercharger to my Corrado VR6 - 294BHP which isn't far off STI - with different gearing (3.68 final drive) and you have machine that will out accelerate a lot of cars! and cost me about 1k in total for charger + map. Of course there are plenty of Mk2 Golf conversions which would have a power to weight benefit, or even a R32 conversion are not too bad these days. Motorway driving - I get around 36MPG so its not too bad, and

    Why not sell it Mark and get another VR6 that inst a full on show car? That way, you can actually drive it more without fear of it getting knocked, its more practical and of course all VR6's are welcome at all our events (sorry nothing we can do about the weather though!) You can pick up nice high-lines for a reasonable amount these days and still look stunning with minor mods and 100x more practical than a full on show car.     How long have you owned your VR6? I've owned my current Corrado for 7 years but have had a mk3 golf vr6 and mk2 vr6 previously. Owned VR6's since I was 18 - now 32 so clocking up those years! Of course I wouldn't change that for anything and won't be selling the Corrado any time soon! Probably only done around 12k mileage since buying the Corrado too due to limited mileage and also down to the fact I've been rebuilding it over several years. So come on then let's hear about your VR6 and its history!

    Could be a few things to be honest. Initially check pulley bearing and water pump as typically would become noisy. Have you you replaced hydrolic lifters at all as part of rebuild? You can easily take the slack off the serpentine belt to check condition of pumps and bearings etc... Pete

    Useful info as always mate ! Do you have links to where you got the stat and and low temp fan switch from in germany? I don't mind waiting. I've always been advised to always go with the thermo plate - I probably will keep original cooler - what did you pay on the mocal with everything just to give me an idea? Cheers. Pete
