  1. Wow! That's a seriously nice looking VR6 ! Nice work pal.
  2. With these cars. As long as the body is good then 99% of mechanical issues can be sorted out reasonably ok!
  3. Probably best to get it on VCDS to read out any Error codes. Could be many reasons why it feels down on power, some cheap / easy to fix.
  4. Lots of cow boys out there who cause problems for other owners further down the line. Had a few of those in my Corrado !
  5. A big fat fake cod [emoji23]
  6. Sound mate. Will get the silicone one ordered up [emoji106]

I have just enabled the blogging feature on the website! So, if you fancy blogging your every day ramblings then head over to the following link! http://www.vr6oc.com/forum/blogs/
  8. cheers I didn't know if the unthreaded bit would foul on the thread if it was longer meaning it doesn't fully thread in. I suppose I will need to take a closer look at this and trail fit it all... RE silicon hoses - I was looking at these http://www.autosiliconehoses.com/silicone-polyester-reinforced-hose-25mm-choose-from-15-colours.html - do you think it would be ok? Next on my hit list is the air filter! I really don't want it hanging to low at the risk of sucking up water.... I have seen this filter that ships with the V3 kit and wondering if any sort of after-market type is avail
  9. Ok, so a little progress today! Finally finished my final template for the spacer, been a bit short on time recently! Good enough send to my mate with a laser cutter [emoji106] Ok, so a little progress today! Finally finished my final template for the spacer, been a bit short on time recently! I am struggling to get 115xm8 bolts for the alternator. If anyone has any info on where I can get these from id appreciate it [emoji2] Also. I need some hose from the Valve thingy to intake... Anyone got any links to where I can get this from? Cheers! Pete
  10. Awesome. Don't see many of these conversions around [emoji23][emoji106]
  11. Awesome. Yeah that's my aim/plan Paul. There is this place down the road from me http://www.pw-finishing.co.uk so was hoping they would sort it out so it looks swank again. I couldn't find any places that had a 2.75" pulley and that's what it's all mapped to etc... Plus didn't want to spend on getting the only available 2.70" or 2.80" pulley at nearly £90 from over the pond.
  12. Ok small update. I had noticed the pulley was slightly damaged upon inspection. The outer rib has somehow rubbed on something and rolled the outer lip inwards. Not to worry. A very helpful person (the same person who made up my dual tensioner spacers infact) made a tool to un-roll it! Before: After: Good as new [emoji106]
  13. Not been here for years. Think I may be getting too old and uncool.
  14. Its not a nice job I know that much!
  15. Awesome. Yes it's very similar. I need a 9.44m thick plate. I've made up template pretty close to what should be in the kit. A mate of mine has a laser cutter so should be a neat job
  16. If you have old style tension bolt and it's not been running for a while then possibly will quieten down after a short while.
  17. Ok. So sump has gone to @dlea to weld the AN fitting [emoji106]
  18. Yep. Go for the mk4 guides also from the 4mo. The very late VR's had a single top chain, earlier ones had a double top chain.
  19. Hey mate. Nice cars! Love the oak green mk2 also! You should get your build thread started in the members ride section so we can see your progress [emoji106]
  20. 100/hour? Wow that's a lot. It is a big job as you have to remove gearbox. It can be done with engine still in the car but much easier when it's out. We have a guide in our club members guides for replacing timing chains, but as others have said theres a few other jobs that's worth considering whilst doing this too [emoji106]
