VR6Pete reacted to Smoke666 in Bora v6 4mo supercharger
Thanks for all the info. Been thinking of turbo alot over Xmas...sourcing all the parts but want to see if anyone has done a twin turbo. Look at both and see what I think is best for me.

VR6Pete got a reaction from Smoke666 in Bora v6 4mo supercharger
I got my "kit" for 700 quid but was missing parts, with all the additional parts needed, pipework, belt, mapping etc.. probably cost me around 1.1k.
Take your time, make a list of everything you need and then take advantage if you come across any of the items second hand on here etc...
Good, cheap reliable fun.

Not sure, you are honestly best speaking to Vince to discuss what options are available for the 24v lump.

So I was lucky enough to upgrade from my v5 to my v6 bora (2001)....now to the point. I have been pointed to this group in hopes that sumone will know of a diy supercharger kit that I can get hold of in the uk as not really had that much luck. Thanks in advance.

VR6Pete reacted to Drewsus in eBay Chinese turbos
I have an ebay GT35 copy and upon stealths recommendations i sent it away to TDI turbos to be rebuilt before fitting for 360 degree bearings and uprated oil seals. Been great for 3000 HARD miles so far in my mk2 vrt. Turbo was £140. Rebuild was £220. Bargain in my eyes.

Nice mate. Hope it's new. Within a month or having my charger bolted up the bearing failed in my alternator due to tension, would have to see your hard work going to waste. -

VR6Pete reacted to RBPE in Parts needed turbo build
You can sack the spacer off nowadays;
http://www.fcp-engineering.com/h-beam-steel-connecting-rods/106-vw-vr6-r32-28-29-32-special-turbo-161mm.html
Turbo, intercooler, recirc valve, injectors, possibly maf depending on how it is tuned, pipe-work, exhaust manifold, possibly inlet manifold depending on the exhaust manifold, downpipe, possibly wastegate dep on turbo.
ARP hardware is always a good idea where possible, might be forgetting a few things but rough idea

I ended up getting my belt from http://simplybearings.co.uk/shop/Products-Belts/c4747_5228/index.html for a good price. Exact length I needed and also 7pk and was only about £15
You will be amazed at how much tension you can take up though so I think you will be ok.

VR6Pete got a reaction from vwvr6sc in Alloy Rocker Cover
For sale I have my old alloy rocker cover off my Corrado.
Comes complete with studs and nuts (with the exception of the 2 nuts you will re-use nearest coil pack.
Comes complete with stainless Steele mounts for the fuel lines.
Could do with a bit of a wipe down, has previously been vapour blasted.
Couple of the threads on the studs will need chasing as nipped them with mole grips when removing.
£50 + P&P
