  1. fuel filter is brand new, and I checked all the injectors the other week because number 6 wasn't working at all.
  2. Car runs fine from start up, and for a good minute or so, even when booting it. but then, it feels like it's running on 5 cylinders (but not quite). It just feels flat and juddery. But when you only give it part throttle, it's OK. I fI cruise steadily for a while, then boot it, it'lll go alright, but then it'll judder again. I'm thinking it's realted to fuel delivery? The pump was whining it's bag off about a month ago too.
  3. yep, and seeing att he MFA reads the injector pulse to work ou it's readings I guess that's why it said I was getting 17.6MPG!!!
  4. The flywheel and the pulley both have the correct timing marks on them. I checked the timing last night, it was bang on. so that left me kind of stuck. I took all the plugs out to check. 1-5 were slightly red, which is normal for optimax users apparently, but number 6 looked like it'd never been used. this made me panic, as I was thinking straight away there was no compression in number 6, but after a mate told me to check the injectors I found the fault. I unplugged them all, and tested them individually by poking them in a cup and putting 12v on them direct off the battery. number 6 wasn't o
  5. You can also get them via Heilx autosport, through Stealth Racing. Or even better, buy them direct from the states for half the price.
  6. I thought the charger would be pretty pointless without a decent diff. so I went for the box instead. The car didn't need more power, it needed grip and a stronger, better ratioed gearbox. plus it doesn't put the insurance or fuel consumption up, nor does it stress the engine any more.
  7. yeah, but they are ignorant, they rarely reply to my posts for some reason. and they seem to think that I'm lying about my car mods too.....weirdos.
  8. no, not yet. I'm hoping it's something simple that someone else has had before that I can check before pulling it all to bits. ah f*ck it, I'll take the manifold off and check it, it's doing my head in.
  9. So no one else had had similar symptoms? It stalls a lot too.
  10. www.tas.uk.com TAS0624G should fit mk2+ 3 golfs and corrado's.
  11. I'm running TAS eccentic ones on mine, the turn in is fantastic.
  12. 2.9 ABV lump, 1994, coil pack, OBD1, just fitted it in a 2.0 8v Corrado. It's got all new chains and guides, mk4 head gasket, 268 cams, 6lb fidanza flywheel, gas flowed head, waisted exhaust valves, turn2 crank pulley, sh1t home made exhaust with the 8v lamda probe which is blowing at the moment. new blue temp sensor, AMD chip, and some other shit that I've probably forgot. anyway, the problem is that it runs lumpy as hell under 3000rpm and sound like a WRX. at first I thought this was down to the lightened flywheel and not having the VGI on at the moment, but after reading up in it a bit I no
  13. yep, 3.94 final drive is only £200 from VAG, vince sometimes gets them second hand, but I think I bought his last one off him. i think TDI 5th is actually a 0.71. my 0.75 is a gemini ratio.
  14. I had stealth fully rebuild my box and fit a peloquin diff and 3.94 final drive and a gemini 6 speed. the bill wa £2600, but I'd rather have this box than a supercharger anyday.
  15. I too have the fidanza wheel, but mine runs very lumpy under 3000rpm. I put this down to the flywheel, but after reding this post I think it could be something else. hmmm.
  16. Just been speaking to James @ Amber. All the hose kits have now been sent out, and you will recieve them in the morning. EXCEPT!! (and eViL won't be happy) a yellow golf vr6 set and a purple golf vr6 set which are on their way to amber on a pallet now, so you'll get those next week, before inters. Samco give thanks to Paul for the loan of his ABF hoses, they've been dying to do that kit for ages, nice one. Cheers guys, I hope you're happy with the purchase, I know I'm well happy with the discount! sorry it took so long to get to you, I'm sure they'll be well worth the wait in the end.
  17. Update. My account has now been debited £195.21 So that's £225.98 + VAT = £265.53 - 30% discount = £185.87 plus the tenner postage (roughly). Total saving of £79.66 (excluding the postage fee of course, which I'd have had to pay anyway). Well worth it! Next time you're thinking about buying anything, ask if there's a discount for a group buy, and see if us lot would be intersted. It didn't take me long to set this one up at all, alomst £80 is a damn good saving, I'm well happy with it, but even happier to know that so many other people were entitled to it too for such a little effort on
  18. it's a VGI......you can't buy the VSR any more, they only made 500.
  19. The 30% discount is confirmed. a lad of the CGTI forum knows the guys at Amber, so he said we can hvae the 30% regardless of how many orders are placed!!
  20. at least 4 orders have already gone in. should hit the 20 target easy.
  21. The amber group buy is active as from today. As I stated before, it was Samco themselves who said we had to go through Amber as they do ALL the group buys. the discount of off the Samco RRP. I don't know how rally design can do them cheaper, or indeed do a group buy when Samco state that all deals must go through amber. by the time this was mentioned there was already too much work gone in to setting up the amber deal. take it or leave it, I'm not making a penny off it, I'm just trying to help you lot save a few quid. I'll be ordering mine in precisely one minutes time.
  22. Shame about the weather, but some really tidy cars about, and some good figures too. I don't think I met a single preson with a "big I am" attitude either, makes a refreshing change. top stuff. don't forget about the samco group buy on CGTI! didn't see many cars with nice glossy coloured hose.
