Just to say i had a great day! Was well organised and it was great to meet so many friendly, like minded people. Didnt start off too well as Vince's little helper chipped my wheel on the lift, and then i was given a list of ABS faults, but they were really good about my damaged wheel and have paid for its repair. The 190 bhp put a smile on my face too! Ive got a load of pics here but having difficulty uploading em into the gallery, anyone help? Hope everyone else enjoyed it, and no one got caught by the speed trap heading south!!
There's only one way to settle this: get a load of highlines and non-highlines and thrash them out on the same rolling road....... I'll see you Sunday 8o)
God, reminds me when i was told i needed a new speed sensor, also referred to by different people as cam position sensor, crank position sensor, hall sensor, hall sender, phase sensor..... They'd just try to sell me anything!
I love my supersprint, cost the same as your milltek, but im sure yours is good too! have only heard good things about milltek, i think theyre quite quiet tho.
Mine aren't actual corrado ones, but similar 5 spoke speedlines: cant post up other pics, have a look in my gallery [ Edited Mon Feb 09 2004, 01:54PM ]
I tried removing plastic arch trim but had a few problems: 1: paint was scratched underneath the plastic, where the arches edge had dug in. Paint renovator and polish was never going to work so i tried sanding down and repainting a small part, but the line remained under the paint. I think you'd have to get a body shop to do this properly. 2: Getting the buggers back on requires special rivets from VW which are cheap but you need a rivet gun, which i dont have. I just bought some plastic 'pins' and botched them in with screws. 3: i found plenty of side strips from cl/gl models in a scra
I was talking about a separate piece of tubing, to run from the bottom grille, supplying cold air to the filter. The problem is squeezing it in the small space available.
Just wanted to share: had a Ram-air filter fitted today and OMG my car sounds awesome! with my exhaust it keeps 'popping' loads on the overrun and HOWLS at above 4000revs. can be a right hassle this car, but just now i love it!!
Got my ATE power discs fitted along with Pagid fast road pads all round and....... not a lot of difference. Might they just need bedding in for a few days?
Im not pretending to be at all knowledgable about this, but turbocharging might be another option to consider. You can certainly get HUGE power down this route but i know nothing of costs and reliability.
Had my tracking done last week. Apparently it was way out. They straightened the wheels and it drives a lot better, but the steering wheel always points right now!
Yeah i was thinking cream too. I have the dark blue interior that people dont like, but i reckon it'd look sweet with a bit of creamy leather. Prices seem to range from 300-1K depending how much u want covered.
