  1. you checked fuses and relays, sometimes it could be the simpliest of things. also make sure the crank sensor is connected

  6. my mate is selling a schrick vsr with the obd1 elbow. there is a obd2 elbow for sale on e38
  7. i fitted as schrick to my 3.1 yesterday and felt a difference in instant acceleration. it's good but not that good. i might even take it off and sell it as very tight in my mk2 golf engine bay.
  8. the link still didn't work, lol. thanks though and dont worry as i know how to fit it as i've done it before just needed to know what to set it at. the control box i have doesn't look like it's been adjusted and pins 4, 6 and 7 are on the rest all off, what rpm is it set at as i have no manual? i guess 3k is teh best setting from what you guys say if you're getting more power from 3-4k. thanks
  9. cheers guys. what's it set at standard and could anyone tell me what the settings are on the control box pls as i dont have the manual yet. fitting is easy as i've done a couple before. i tried the link above but it didn't work.
  10. Not sure what to set the schrick manifold at. Never had one of these and i haven't fitted it yet either. I've got a 3.1 with big valve head but with standard cams at moment but ight get some fitted by end of week. Any ideas and i haven't got the manual yet so might need to know what pins need to be switched. What sort of increase in power will i get? cheers
  11. kevhaywire is right about the dummy plug. it's only used on the u.s. cars, i've got rid of mine. is the extra plug you have a 2 or 3 wire plug? looking at the pic the plug is at the rear of engine. if it's a 3 wire one it could plug into the gearbox for the speedo. if it's a 2 wire then it might be for the electric water pump.
  12. mine used to do that too. i have corrado vr6 fans and rad in my mk2 golf. the problem i had was the fan shroud was bent. check the pulleys on the both fans,one could be damaged
  13. all the vr's i've come across have had 4 bar fuel pressure regultors. i've got a fse fuel pressure reg which cost
  14. there's nothing better than building your car yourself, that's the whole point. i was thinking of getting throttle bodies for my vr but it too much money at least £2000

  16. goodboy1451 is right, underdriven pulleys dont work as good as the standard ones when using a supercharger. as the crank pulley is smaller the rest of the pulley's run slower and you'll get less boost. you can get lightweight pulley's which are the same size as the orignal one which should make a difference. i've got unorthoxodox pulley's on mine. they came in a set of 3 as the crank one is smaller so the powersteering is larger to make up for the loss in size so the belt still fits and i also got an alternator one. they work well and weigh nothing compared to the heavy standard one [ Edit

  18. i've got a 6 branch manifold, no cat and only the rear 2 supersrint back boxes and my induction is louder than the exhaust
  19. the timing chain is at the gearbox end of the engine
  20. if the handbrake light just flashes when it should be on, it has to be a poor battery or you might have bad connections with either the positive or negative
  21. if you mean to just swap coil packs then the corrado one will fit on the golf as they're the same
  22. on my mk2 vr i've got a 6 branch, cat by-pass and a mk2 16v supersprint 2 box system. i used to have a custom made powerflow sytem but i didn't like it. my new one seems better but the down side is that it's quiet.
  23. supersprint it is then, now im left with choosing which tailpipe but ii think the magnum suits the mk2 well. i cant remember hearing your car six appeal but dont worry next i do you'll be hearing mine too.
  24. im only after the two rear boxes so i should get a some sound. at the moment my exhaust is louder than the induction
  25. was thinking about a supersprint, what do they sound like, as i want the vr sound but only coming out of the tailpipes and not in the car like the powerflow crap
