ALLTORQUE, thanks for the quick reply mate, looks like it could be that as the bolt which goes through an elongated hole (slide) was a bit loose, It seems like its going into 1st and reverse now anyway, fingers crossed its sorted? Cheers.

For as long as I can remember I have always had slight problem with the gearbox in my VR the usual thing of slight notchiness and a reluctance to go into 1st which was usually rectified by selecting 2nd then back to first at junctions etc, however just went to take my car out and now I cannot select 1st & reverse at all! anybody got any answers to what could be the problem and anything I could try to resolve it? Thanks.

JK, Car looks good mate, looks as if you got a great deal there & well worth the 1000 mile trip going by the pictures. Would be interested to know how much you get quoted for the respray? -

True, I have seen some great looking results on this forum and more than anything want to stop the rot before it gets a hold, I'm in Oxfordshire if anybody has any recommendations?

Has anybody had their leather seats retrimmed & how much was it? I have the mushroom coloured leather and finding a matching interior is near on impossible. Thanks.

My VR6 is suffering from the usual stone chips to bonnet & front wings but also has a few areas where the dreaded rust is starting to show, I am seriously considering a total respray but how much roughly would this be? any recommendations on bodyshops would also be helpful. Thanks.

My girlfriend has just got a new car, its not a VR6 or even a Golf, but it is a VW. http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y266/Storey31/P1010501.jpg I just need to persuade her to let me take it for a spin !lol

Thanks again for the comments, as we all know they can take all your money these VR6's but some of that is repaid when you get compliments from fellow club members.

I will apologise now to anyone who isn't a fan, but I have just received my tickets to see U2 at Twickenham for the VERTIGO tour!!!!!!!!! !lol !lol Needless to say I can't wait as I have wanted to see this band for as long as I can remember but could never get tickets. Anybody else on here going to this or any of the other UK dates? Anyway thats all - carry on.

I already have Eibach springs (-30mm) but wondered if I can go lower say -50mm total without changing the Koni dampers I already have? Thanks.
