  1. Where is the best place to get these from?, I want the indicators and the blanks only, plan to leave the fogs clear for now. cheers.
  2. Looking really good Pete, think they may just look better on a red car like mine though.
  3. Claire Yes had been well looked after until I did this!, have had the repair done now, didn't know what could be achieved, so went with the first people I could find, is not a 100% repair but for £30 its stopped it getting any worse, may have to keep an eye out for another drivers seat which I know are like rocking horse (you get the idea) who knows maybe a complete retrim if I get a cash windfall?
  4. I have tried Chips Away in my area and they do not do leather repairs, so I found another place, Dent & Trimtech of Witney, and have arranged for them to do me a quote on Friday Cheers.
  5. Through to the foam - sob sob &|
  6. I can't believe it, rushed out of work, with a screw driver in my back pocket, only found it again as I jumped out of the car, and yes you guessed it, result is a fookin ripped leather drivers seat!! ~ Now I need some advice please, anybody know anything about leather seat repairs, what results can be achieved etc, and any recommendations on who to use? Oxfordshire area. Thanks. &| &| ~ ~
  7. turbo_chick12 Can't comment on your relationship worries, but from experience I think trying to do a DIY repair is always very difficult, it depends to a point on how much you value the car, but maybe more importantly if you have the finances to put it into a bodyshop?. Maybe ask around for a couple of quotes, you may be surprised.
  8. robvr6 Had this very problem myself a while ago, changed the Thermostat, job done!
  9. Lovely, sure the cat finds them comfortable, don't know if I would trust him/her not to claw them though? !amazed
  10. A pair of Mole grips and a cloth etc to protect the lid. easy though.

    Ouch!

Labour charge was £60 p/hr + VAT. No doubt on really Icy mornings I will feel it was worth paying just keep thinking of all the other things it could of bought, A nice new S/S exhaust system for one! - Bollocks I new I should of been a mechanic. ~

    Ouch!

Picked up my car from AMD today after two days of Diagnosis & fix of my previously described Climatronic fault, well I now have Heat again which is great! (with -5 Temps suggested on the weather tonight), but what is not so good is how much it cost, £423! to be exact &| , this was for 6 hours labour, which they needed to take the dash out, and fix a broken linkage on the hot/cold vent. Just a word of warning to anybody with similar problems really I suppose.
  13. Yes AMD are just down the road, didn't think they would be interested in doing general repairs etc, I thought they would do performance related work only, No harm in asking I suppose, will try them. Cheers.
  14. I live in Bicester, Oxfordshire.
  15. All I have been informed that I need a new heater control motor, due to a lack of warm air when selected on the climate control. Do I: Go to a main dealer who have probably done this before, but then have to pay the horrendous labour charges aprox £70 p/hr. Buy a manual and attempt a DIY fix. Go to a backstreet garage who may be cheaper but tell me they have never replaced this part before and really don't know how long it will take to do. Thanks.
  16. Claire Really sorry to here that, not much consellation at the moment, but chances are you will find a new job quicker than you think, and hopefully you will look back and think that they have done you a favour?, hasn't happened to me yet, but my girlfriend has had this happen twice and each time she has ended up with a better job, and the last time a fairly major redundancy payout also.
  17. Thanks Pete, will try a few things at the weekend, has been a pain in the arse with nights drawing in and the weather to do anything, as you say try the easy and cheaper stuff first, unfortunately can't make it to the RR day so will probably have to find a vw approved garage. cheers, for now?
  18. Sorry forgot to say, the climate control flashes, every time I start the car, which I know signifies a fault - doh
  19. VR6Pete, Cheers for the reply, Rad fans do kick in etc, I had recently replaced the Thermostat, due to cool running, and that is now all sorted but just before that was done, noticed one morning that I had no heat from the heater, however this went away but has now returned and has been like it for the last week, suspect either there is a air bubble maybe? or there is some problem with the climate control, have been told that you can access the fault codes somehow?, I am not loosing water anywhere either? cheers.
  20. All Can anybody shed any light on why I am getting no hot air from the climatronc unit?, I had the same problem at the same time I noticed the thermostat was playing up (causing cool running) this has since been changed, could this be just air bubbles in the cooling system? &| any advice? Cheers.
  21. My advice would be don't take it to Kwikfit!, In my opinion the only thing these places should be used for is tyres in an emergency and I would only do that if I couldn't find anywhere else!
