  1. Thanks for the info, will see if the second one is there? alivr6 - cheers mate will let you know if I need one.
  2. Seriously for a moment, this is bugging the F**k out of me and I need to know what other people have got, VW are reluctant to shed any light on the situation and I don't have a manual, if two should be there do they fit on the same bracket or are they seperated? Cheers.
  3. Can somebody tell me how many horns a VR6 should have?, (i.e Single or Twin), as VW tell me it should have two, however I seem to only have one (they said they should be together) mine is situated behind the mesh grill underneath the drivers side Fog/Indicator unit.
  4. Jeff_VR6, nice one mate, I think I can do alot better than the price I have been quoted, just I have spent on other mods lately so will have to put up with no aircon for now.
  5. Geastb, Apologies mate, try this www.bigboystoys-uk.com
  6. Funny how music can change your driving style?, don't you think, always been keen on heavy metal, and Metallica has again found its way into the stereo, seem to get to work etc alot quicker at the moment?
  7. Tommy, Agreed, always difficult to imagine until as you say you see them on a MK3, I had seen them on a golf at Inters the guy worked for Gwent VW (who are a main agent for FK stuff) Not expecting any good things about the tyres, they couldn't say what they would be (very vague), In the end I thought i'd take the risk and upgrade them in a few weeks, which is probably how long they will last! By the way the RH splits look cool, sounds like you got a cracking deal.
  8. Tommy, Yes mate the very same, do you know something I don't?? &|
  9. I have just been told after 2 weeks of waiting already that the wheels I had ordered from 'BIG BOYS TOYS' (named and shamed - you have been) are now going to be at least another 2 weeks!! they say its out of there hands due to their supplier only delivering every 2 weeks and being out of stock. ~ ~ Anybody else dealt with them, and had a similar experience?
  10. VR6pete In a nutshell its not throwing out cold air as it should be, had the car AA checked before i bought it, and they reported it wasn't working properly, seller (a Trader) said it just needed re-gassing, which he did, bought the car in the winter so assumed all was well, have now been told that there is plenty of gas in the system, but still no cold air so it is propably a fault with the Compressor.
  11. 28v6r Cheers will look out for him. yeeha Nice idea, but i'd still be fookin hot.
  12. All, Yes just when I need it too!! ~ , Have been told that my Aircon compressor needs to be replaced, and yes you have guessed it we are talking lots of money, have been quoted £530 fitted and re-gassed etc. I think I trust the diagnosis, just wondered if anybody else has had the same problem? have read that this can be a common fault with Golfs etc. Thanks.
  13. Tommy Very nice mate, car looks the B***"$!S, just waiting for some wheels myself, their coming from Germany, so will be another week at least?, Bugger!
  14. I've got a rather sooty exhaust - does this mean i'm running too rich? Or is this normal? (ORIGINAL THREAD) Mine does this too, only noticed when I put my Scorpion exhaust on, (shiney tailpipe doesn't stay shiney very long) have just had a major service at VW so assume this must be normal.
  15. Cheers Pete, They came the other day, will be fitted asap.
  16. All Unsure whether this was a good move or not, but came away from inters having bought a VW window sticker, (I can hear groans of why & T*** etc???) still the question is for the rear window can you stick these over the heating element of the heated screen i.e on the inside?
  17. MURPHY, Good question, I have lowered my car on Koni's by about 30mm, and I am having the same problem deciding whether that will be low enough for some 17's I have in mind? all ways difficult to know how your car will look until you try it. anybody else got any feedback ?!
  18. Just to add to the debate. I also had to fit a new alarm, as the factory stuff had gone T**S up, also went for the Toad Ai606, have to admit I had a couple of problems soon after it was fitted, (I was locked out a couple of times ~ ), this was down to the receiver ariel being incorrectly fitted, as after repositioning, it has caused me no problems at all .
  19. Cool Do like the phat rear end look (ooh er. etc etc )
  20. Why didn't i think of that!! believe it or not they are about 2 mins away from me, was thinking of suitable VW garages not tuners, Doh !amazed
  21. Hi all I want to throw this out, and see what comes back? Has anybody heard any bad things about this type of oil?, I was going to start using it, (currently use Shell Helix) but I have heard (third hand admittedly) that it can cause problems with the valve stem oil seals &| I am expecting that this is probably complete B*ll"$&S but interested to hear your thoughts?.
  22. Patrick, I can't say I have noticed that, touch wood, the problem has gone away (for now?) fingers crossed I will get through the 'Inters' weekend, and then I can concentrate on getting the car looked at properly. Cheers.
  23. Cheers, for the advice, I have sprayed the coilpack and leads with wd40, and today the car ran fine, did have the bonnet up when i started it, heard a cracking noise (arching maybe?) a couple of times, but this didn't seem to correspond with any misfire? I have looked closely at the coilpack looks very clean like it may have been replaced at some point, so maybe my problem is the leads or plugs, car has a FSH so I assume they have been replaced at the correct intervals, As already explain I will be getting the car diags checked so will see what else if anything is going on &| ?
  24. Hi all I have started to get a slight misfire from cold, more severe when slowing/accelerating at junctions etc, this goes away,as the engine warms up. I have yet to get the car diagnostic checked. any ideas? VW approved garages in the Oxfordshire area anyone? Cheers.
