  1. looks like your plater's going to be busy this year justin! might try getting some bits done to sell on myself by the look of the increasing demand!
  2. have a look in the yellow pages for shotblasting/powder coaters. they'll be able to do it for you. or see if youhave anything under wheel refurbishing!
  3. classic sign of wheel bearing rumble! easy to do really, just follow the instructions in any haynes manual. dont forget that the rear caliper pistons are wind-ins so you dont trash them. you can get the wind in tool from halfords for not to many tokens thses days!
  4. justin- who wants warm pants when you're crapping yourself sitting on the right hand side with no controls, while you cane your car down the road while second guessing if its safe to overtake? lol
  5. thats a bummer dude, someone on here will know for sure , most probably andrew! what do the russians know anyhow, they gave us the trabant and stoopid fruit pastel style hats for godsake!
  6. "i see pride, i see power, i see a bad ass mother who dont take no crap off a no one" taken from "cool runnings"
  7. bummer dude. thought you would have gone for some bigger brakes than that tho myself with all the power available to you soon. will take some hauling up with the standard set-up i would think!
  8. agood guide is to follow the haynes manual speak! once you've reassembled the hub complete with bearings, tighten to specific torque, then back the nut off till you can just move the thrust washer under it side to side with a screwdriver. replace castle nut and new split pin, hub cap and wheel, and bob's your uncle, fanny's your aunt and murtle's your cousin! job done. done this loads of times and had no probs!
  9. simon, sorted the dip lights out. was the bulbs in the end, just thought that they were the main beam part of the quads not dip. someone had connected the loom plug for the lights round the wrong way so main bulbs were on with sidelights and dip was on with main beam. still got the prob of dip going off when main beam is on tho. have a jumper bridge already in fuse box, and got a different one that came with the quads, both make no difference to the main and dip staying on together. supposed to be some sort of relay over the top of them, but not sure waht for? any ideas?
  10. does anyone know the solution to my problem? have today put in my hella quads, but when switched on i only get side lights and main beam , no dip on both lamps. bulbs checked and okay, reverted back to the mk.4 style and they work okay again? looking in the fusebox/relay panel, number 10 relay has nothing in it apart from a bridge for the fogs, is that right? i have been led to believe that there should be a plug or relay in there as well. i know the bridge is only to make main and dip stay on together, but would this effect the dipped hella's? i dont know, stumped now, any help out there?
  11. mark(minty) has one on his, think its fitted now!
  12. i will be most interested in this justin. have heard that the neuspeed ones are supposed to be top notch,if a tad expensive. i'm happy to go for the awesome one or any that fit the bil tbh!
  13. £54? i paid less than that for mine when i got some from ecp! think it was about the same from there for two as it was for the price of one from the stealers!
  14. what exactly are the symptoms of a dirty isv, and whats the best way of removing/cleaning it? i think i mu=ight just do mine to be sure its not causing my slightly lumpy idle after choke!
  15. how easy are these to fit onto wings then? i know the edges have to be flat rolled to flush them but is there a danger of warping the panel when welding it in? how much you asking for the vents?
  16. ask mk.3 anni(steve) . he's put two of his on already and its the door pull bar you need to mod i think, a slight bend put in it or something similar!
  17. a few good guffaws were had there! nice one!
  18. if its camber as well i'm interested as its camber rather than tracking thats out on mine. if you can get me the number or check if its camber adjustment too that would be very helpfull! vw charged me £90 last time!
  19. you'll need to get that sorted then or it will ruin your front tyres! if you find anywhere near to you let me know as i'm in need of some re-alignment too and you're not that far away from me really!
  20. 18's will fit if you're prepared to do a lot of work on the inner/outer arches/wings. they have been seen on a few cars in the last couple of years, but i would think the ride would not be the best, or the handling for that matter. i'm sure someone will disagree with me here, but i found my 17's with a 60mm drop to be a little berift in the handling compared to my old 16's. they look good, but looks aren't always the best policy if you want the car to handle! you takes ya choice...............
  21. its either that or buy some transporter or sprinter vents and get your bodyshop to do it while its in. either way the wings gotta come off, which is no big deal, just make sure they can do it well before you cut holes in your car!
  22. the bumpstops should be fine with such a small drop. as justin says it will more than likely be hardly noticable as the suspension will already have sagged to a degree anyway and will look slightly lower than when new now! it will handle slightly better , but tbh you'd be better off buying a matched kit of shocks/springs, as they are quite reasonable to pick up and you'll have to dismantle the struts anyway to fit just springs!
  23. cool louvres do them for both side with a choice of vent styles and they also do the bonnets too!
  24. of course it is, silly me. edited. you must be bored justin!
