  1. its torque you need at combe, not revs tommy, lol, and there's always the armco to worry about %-6
  2. my car prob wont be finished by then but i'll be there in something or other!
  3. it may not be as quick as a vr, but it sure will handle okay by then!
  4. depends how many laps u get. i'd be willing to give the vr some stick for a couple of laps to show you mk2 peeps up, then cane you in my mk.2 as well, lol!
  5. its not the runners that need modding with a mk.4 interior, its the legs on the seats that fit into the runners!
  6. and there was me putting an evo in the top 3 of my wish list after the vr! tbh i'm not too worried about mpg as i have two big thirsty v6's already! if thats the only downside, i think i could live with that!
  7. there was me thinking gpc actually sell/supply genuine vw parts? bought one from ecp and fitted perfectly, no unsightly gap and just screwed to the splash guards i had, even though my original spoiler was a later model type!
  8. sell yours and buy mine andrew! then i can treat myself to summat else! [he says in a suicidal fashion, unable to find the same sort of bargain as minty, and wanting one bad enough to give up the vw game if not finding one!]
  9. disappointed at not getting on this time due to camber problems. will be having four wheel alignment again soon and back to see what it'll do in the colder weather. ran a 209.6bhp/202.7lb/ft in june when had the schrick done, was hoping for a little more after just fitting gas flowed tb as well. never mind, i'll beat you next time mr.leese, hold the bet open till next time!

i have "played" with several car in my time, both with 3.1 engine, and 2.8 installed! i have found that 4wd drive cars, although mainly devestating away from the line, are not much quicker in the mid-reange or top end than a well sorted vr. speedo reading will always tell a story but comparatively speaking, if you work on standard performance figures across the board, the vr does seem to endow itself with more performance than is quoted, especially when tuned!
  11. as no doubt someone will snitch on me sooner than later, i have been known to play "who let the dogs out" and abba megamix at shows before. must try and remember to lock my doors when going for a slash to stop people sneaking cd's into my car! on the plus side, i do have some mickey j in the car most weeks, a bad role model granted, but wikkid in his early days! stuff you cant take away from the guy!
  12. think its a poor show to blame the being late soley on me peeps. i was not well certainly, but was still more or less ready to go when everyone else was. it'll be a different story this year dudes! plus i seem to remember everyone else needing a stop for extra cash on the way apart from me, so come prepared this time!! lol. 14. what about my engine bay pete, not a bling as justins but it does have a nice shiny shrek! take some the weekend!
  15. bugger, thought i was on a winner there!
  16. if i buy you a few drinks rich can i have that zorst for nowt too? or is it girlies only who get freebies?
  17. presumably the connection is secure in the unit itself, hard to tell without taking it back out i know, but may have come loose slightly when pushing it home? the high temp is down to the fact that most modern headunits use mosfet amp ciruitry to power the units which, while more powerfull, also generate more heat in the unit itself. the fact it sit directly above the heater vents is also not going to help! i have a pioneer myself and although have no probs on reception, the unit does run warm!
  18. steve-pre-86 cars only had a seperate washer resevoir for the rear screen, post-86 switched to a bigger resevoir under the bonnet. headlamp and front/rear washers operate from the under bonnet resevoir. have spoken to several people on this and all agree so far with your thoughts on it, haynes manual makes no note of a seperate tank for headlights either. hope this helps!
