  1. if u do a group buy put me down but dont do it till i come back off holiday on the 9th of oct please peeps!
  2. they didnt. unless it states it on the logbook its not a highline, just a late model vr6 with leather and aircon. unless somebody knows different!
  3. had a quick look at mine today and thats whats written on mine, sorry!
  4. thats prob because they are on their way out and not "clicking" all the time at the moment, only when you put undue pressure on the drive train by "booting" it outta junctions.turning the wheels and accelerating hard at the same time puts extreme pressure on the driveshaft/cv components! is there any need i have to ask, no quicker than getting on the gas early and accelerating hard once in a straight line, wheelspinning actually loses getaway time not creates it! 5. front top mounts would be a good idea. should get new bump stops if its a full suspension kit!
  6. new bolts and gasket for the sump! the rad and fan has to be changed from the front so its bumper/grill off in order to do it. not difficult, just a pain in the arse dismantling everything just to do the rad and fans. most come out from behind but not these, vr6's are never easy! lol
  7. definately sounds like a matrix failure if its leaking inside the car to me. never changed one of these on a vr b4, thankfully, but have done one on a mk.2 and it is a bugger of a job as most of the lower dash and ancillaries have to come out to get to the matrix! get a bently diagram of the matrix from someone on here who has the manual and have a butchers at whats involved first!
  8. i have one off my vr6 from when i had my schrick fitted at stealth. haven't looked at it since it was removed but i cant imagine vince would have damaged it taking it off. i'll dig it out if you still need one and have a look, make me an offer inc p&p and i'll send it off if its any good!
  9. think nickbee is selling his koni eibach set-up off his golf still. a good buy imo, and far better than standard stuff even with a modest drop in ride height. send him a pm and see if they're still for sale!
  10. should never run a car hard from cold whatever it is unless you dont give two shits about it and want to kill it! wait till the oil temp gets to 50 b4 giving the loud pedal some action! the vr does pick up really well from @ 3k and over as its quite tall geared to start with, the whirring noise from under the bonnet will more than likely be a slightly noisy auxilary water pump, not much to worry about unless you start losing water or it starts making a louder more pronounced noise! 11. my '94 is also 4 pin and i had no probs with after market light conectors!
  12. as long as it does as it did in the warm weather when vince mapped it i'll be happy, not much to choose between mine and pete's pound for pound! although i do have a couple of items up the sleeve, and it did really well last time without the schrick in the cold weather! here's hoping kid!
  13. i'll be there, as usual, probably first at the bar. although hopefully not as unwell next morning as last rr day!
  14. scorpion for me, some people dont like 'em, i love mine especially on a run when the warmer it gets the louder it barks!
  15. ask andrew (acf8181), as i'm sure his hose he took off wasn't leaking just shabby. i know evil also had hoses to off here, and also sixpot off club gti forum had some to. try there matey, pm or mail the guys and see what comes!
  16. why dont you ask on here if somebody has a hose like that left over from the samco group buy? i sent my hose, the same as you need, to acf, as his was no good either. just cost him postage as it was no use to me any more.
  17. they have changed the regs concerning which alarms are now classified as cat one, some of which used to be but no aren't, but most cat one have or can be total closure. i had the problem with my clifford alarm so now have a second seperate cat 2 immobiliser as well ,as the alarm itself does what it needs to ,and no point shelling out for a newer one that does exactly the same thing!

    SWAPS

i would swop mine for a mitsi evo 4 if i could find someone with a mind to taking the challenge! wanted one for ages, well an evo 5 tbh, but thats just wishfull thinking!
  19. you can get a proper winding tool from halfrauds! you can tap the bearings home with a big socket the same size as the outer race, just dont hit the inner race as it will dislodge and be damaged! apply plenty grease (lm) to the outers before re assembling on the hub! i would be more concerned with using second hand discs more than anything else tbh, especially as they are cheap enuff to buy new! never skimp on brakes! 20. i think simon(six appeal) had one of these at some stage. ask him if it was any good or not!
