  5. i have one in mine and to be honest, there is not that much difference. however i am in the process of ordering an oil cooiler and fan switches to match the thermostat opening temp!
  6. having considered taking on this position, i really dont think i will have the time to commit to it fully as i have other varied commitments as well. however, if there was no objections i wouldn't mind being a contributor to articles and show reports/pictures at those that others cant make etc. what do you think guys?
  7. what sub you putting in it justin? have heard a few of these smaller boxes in different cars now with varying results and sound, some just down to sub choice!
  8. mail sent, with pics! try to get the in car ones done 2moro
  9. i have a picture of one with my alpine in it if you're intersted in looking at what the boxes look like? its not in the car as yet but i may be able to put it in and take a pic 2moro if its not raining!
  10. will still expect to see your face at some of the shows mate, the ones you can make it to of course when you're not at an ideal homes convention or down to argos choosing a new ironing board! i've also seen a nice line in window box flowers if you want me to send you the number to ring?
  11. where abouts in east midlands are you glyn? i live in the worcestershire area which is pretty much central midlands really!
  12. have been reading about this conversion and they do look sweet behind those wheels. speedo-do you know if that set-up will fit in behind 16" wheels too, they have just done this conversion on a mk.4 turbo in vw driver running 16" wheels so i'm presuming it will? perhaps a thread with the parts required and potential costs would be an idea for the rest of our readers to peruse? vrmonster-there is no real advantage to upgrading the rears to bigger discs unless running large horsepower, as @ 60% of braking is from the fronts anyhow, and you would run the risk of overbraking the rear which leads
  13. olly-a bit off topic, but were those swg skirts easy enough to fit or did you entrust someone else with that job?
  14. that would be a problem then, although its a fairly straight forward diy job! i'm sure vince would sort post out also!
  15. i feel the same way olly, although i really like the look of my 17's, and most people say how they suit the car, it had lost a bit of bite on the acceleration front, plus i noticed it didnt turn in as well! having the vsr and remao has given the bite back, and i have now bought a set of 16's for pennies to polish up and try on the car with the feeling it will transform the handling back to how i prefferd it, and the extra grunt from the vsr/chip will give it a bit more accelaeration without sacrificing to much top end! i have seen the car off the clock on a few occasions now, but dont get th
  16. the pro-ram is a similar size to most induction kits(k&n, pipercross, jetex etc), the supa-ram is the dustbin sized one that quite a few of the top vw tuners recommend for the vr6 engine due to, in part, its surface area compared to most induction kits! minty-so how much for the intake then? and how many you gonna bring with you on the rr day as i would be up for purchasing one off you!
  17. any prices on those shiny remote filter intakes yet dude? and can you do them all in one piece as opposed to two sections?
  18. my car was already developing 193lb'ft of torque b4 the schrick, but it is the vsr thats taken it over the 200 mark and at lower revs to! not wishing to blow my own trumpet as i was as surprised as anyone, but mine did come out top of the n/a cars at the last stealth rr day :-). although it was a close run thang!
  19. certainly have me young padawan apprentice! the force is strong in this one! [ Edited Thu Aug 12 2004, 01:56PM ]
  20. mine feels far from sluggish is what i'm trying to say also! the ram air has far more surface area than the cda to start, ansd round town would perform better as there is no forced air being pushed into the cda box at slower speeds! thats the whole idea, not just to act as a heat shield! my car is developing 203lb/ft of torque at 3500rpm so nothing wrong with the response of the car or the performance from low rpm!
  21. it does look sweet on those rc's though minty!
  22. why dont you save yourself a chunk of cash and buy yourself a one-man brake bleeder from halfrauds and do it all yourself? piece of cake!
  23. all depends how low you want the car though! if you're quite happy with 4x4 ride height then 17's or even 18's will be fine, if you want it in the weeds with as much clearance as possilble then they're just to big to perform well enough for me! its all down to your driving preferences i guess!
  24. stealth racing do mocal remote oil cooler kits for @ £140 as far as i recall. give vince a ring and ask the question, probably do you a good deal on fitting to !
