i'd love to do it, but just not in the VR!! If i can find a decent enough MK2 for less than a ton, and MOT it for next to nothing, i'll be there! or, of course, someone who will let me borrow one...... !amazed [ Edited Mon Nov 15 2004, 08:12PM ]
i've got a green one. Personally i don't like it. Got no reason not to like it, i think it's just because it looks so small compared to the likes of the RamAir ones! Sounds pretty mad though. Very loud!
with 100k to spend on a car, i'd be a very happy man!! More than likely a very happy man with a Porsche though! lol Slowly convincing myself that a Porsche will be the next car if i can't stretch to an R32. Probably look at an older Carrera 4........ hmmm! 8)
The fact that you and everyone else gets to see your car on a cd and at the autosport show...what more could u ask for ?! [ Edited Wed Nov 10 2004' date= 05:21PM ] Freebies!!
aye it is indeed. I understand that there is a motorised throttle body mechanism type thing with the OBD 2's but haven't looked into how it all works as yet. Does anyone know if there is still a microswitch that triggers on the throttle return? Could it be a problem here with a broken wire or dodgy contact?
idle valve? Is it an OBD1 or OBD2 car? If it's the OBD1 then theres a good chance it could be helped by flushing out the idle stabilisation valve. My Corrado randomly cut out at idle (more often than not it was as the revs dropped to idle, but occasionally after), flushed it out with brake cleaner and some WD40 and it was much better!
Thought that was decided by how many neons you could fit on a Corsa! Close but no cigar! The more neons on your Corsa, the smaller your penis, the bigger your burberry cap! %-6
the sweet sound of any charger has to win it for me. Watching the clips on my video camera the other night, i think Minty's has the whistling edge over anoraks so credit to him. Cheers for voting my whistling machine in the top 3 though mate, just a bit unfortunate that my whistling comes from the tailpipes not the engine bay!! lol
on both my 8V MK2 and my Corrado i was seeing transmission losses of over 40bhp. IIRC 8V was 82BHP atw, which gave me a tranny loss of 41bhp, and the Corrado was 141 atw which gave me a loss of 45bhp. With the Golf though, i've actually got a wheel figure of 154, which would explain why it feels quicker than the C, but it only show a loss of 31bhp!! Odd!
Thinking of changing mine too now. Weighed up the Milltek, as IMO it's a damn good price. At the moment my car has a Remus/Powerflow mutant and it's minging. At the price, is there anything that compares??
i was close to the end and managed 184.8bhp and 177Ib/ft, but like many others, have nothing to compare it to, apart from my Corrado which managed 186bhp on a warmer day. But the golf feels quicker so that doesn't make complete sense!! lol Tandino - i onlt had a transmission loss of 31 bhp too. Managed 154@wheels IIRC
Spurred on by the chatbox discussion, wht CD's are in your car at the moment? Also, what's your best CD/Band at the moment and your best live gig? For me: In the car:- Breed 77 - Cultura Mad Caddies - Rock the Plank Korn - Greatest Hits Part 1 Less Than Jake - Goodbye Blue & White Goldie Lookin Chain - Greatest Hits (gotta have it for entertainments sake!! lol) Best CD of the moment: Hard pushed on this one but it's a Choice of The Distillers - Coral Fang or American Head Charge - The War of Art Best Band........can only ever be Metallica. Best live gig: Again choice of 2. Bad Religio
i was quoted around about £250 to have the rust done on my 2 sills and one rear arch. That was from Greg Howell at Southam Autobodies so it was a guy to trust!
There's a chance of me being on time then!! lol See you all bright and early on Sunday morning people, and i'll just keep my fingers crossed that my tracking and camber is OK.......
