  1. With my current money situation, i could probably manage to donate some standard dampers and springs from my MK3, nice and rusty and covered in cobwebs, and a Ford airbox.......which also came with the car??!!!?? lol Sorry, i'm rather skint this year!
  2. i appreciate it Olly!! Just looks abit like minebut with a schrick!! lol
  3. Steve? That was one funny night at BVF i have to say. Alhtough i can't remember a great deal of it!!
  4. oh my god.....not you!!! lol Hi Sue, just been told you'll be comin!!
  5. looking good! mine still looks like a shit tip, so please don't take any notice of it on sunday. i've had no chance to even start it!!
  6. make sure you say hello to me!! i know a couple of you (Justin, Matt and Claire), but that's about it!
  7. great news! can't wait to see it on Sunday of course, i'm not jealous!
  8. mine did that. One condition when i bought it was that he got the window working, which he did, then a couple of weeks back it stopped. Could here the relay click too, but it wouldn't open. Follwing day it worked fine, and has done ever since! I'm presuming mine is tight runners...
  9. Excellent news! Fame at last! lol I'll be up for taking pics too, if needed, but i'll only have my 2MP camera..... Now i've gotta make sure i'm there on time!!
  10. aye, something like that. If you read the book it tells you to drive off straight away but not to use excessive revs until up to temperature. I think sitting at tickover to warm up can make your plugs shitty or something.....
  11. lmao@ Justin! Could have a similar one on mine, but it'd stadn out a lot more. Yours looks positively sparkling compared to mine!
  12. woohoooo!! i'll see what Vince reckons on Sunday!
  13. feeling a bit embarassed now, i've gotta apol;ogise for sayin that my rev limiter cut in at over 7k........i looked ont he way home and the rev counter only goes up to that!! Turns out to be 6800. Chipped?
  14. VR's don't have a cable if the've got a hydraulic clutch. Obviously yours is running a cable operated one.
  15. Great! Cheers for that! Really shat myself that i was gonna be in for a seized engine until it finally started up again, then once it started i didn't know what to think, apart from where i could enrol on a mechanics course quick sharp! Cheers guys, it's sat down in the car park at work now, probably feeling all sad for itself, so just a case of keeping me fingers crossed that it's OK when i leave.
  16. OK, will check all that area tonight. Cheers! Anymore thoughts on that or the rev limiter? Thanks
  17. would you not run a hydraulic arrangement in a MK2 VR6 though?? I certainly would expect too!
  18. i haven't actually checked that, i must admit. I want to get rid of the one that's on there anyway, as it's one of the Green cones, and it annoys me. I don't know why, but i've never liked the Green ones...... Perhaps Vince could help me out more at the RR day. I'll give him a ring before hand i think and see what he has to say....
  19. As i can get a more accurate description in here, rather than stupidly longs posts in the chatbox, i'll post this here too! I pulled off the drive this morning, and a loon came flying right up behind me (we live in a 30 limit, and he was no where to be seen whn i pulled out). The only thing to do, put my foot down, which with the car being cold, i really didn't want to do. Anyway, i did that and at about 3500rpm it just died. I lost all power and it just slowed down. Lifted off and it made no difference, tried to accelerate and again, still nothing. Put my foot on the clutch and it died.
  20. we ended up going with Nationwide for ours, as our financial advisor found us a cracking FTB deal. It's always best to find an independant advisor to talk through things with you and not try to push you into anything. That would be my first step. Our place cost us 125k, although listed at 140k. We had a good deposit of over 10% and a combined income of just over 40k. I had to sell the Corrado due to needing some of the capital tied up in it, hence why i bought the MK3. Now we have a bit to get us buy, but we certainly will never be flush! Our payments are about 550 pm, plus all the extra
  21. Mine uses a bit too by the look of it. Another common problem is the header tank cap i understand. Might be worth just pulling away the black plastic cover where the header tank joins the turret and see if theres any signs of leaking from the cap down the side of the tank. That's what happened to my corrado too!

    Belt

everyone is soo blazee about this belt!! I need mine doing but ain't got round to it yet. I keep getting told "easy job" blah blah blah, but it really looks a tight fit down there!! If you get it done mate, tell me how easy from your point of view!! Cheers!
  23. I'm wanting to change my wheels. Probably won't be until the other side of Christmas, but i like to plan ahead! I was thinking of something along the idea of Porsche Cup style or something like that, but i'm undecided between 16's and 17's....... Anyone have any opinions or thoughts that might help me? Cheers!
  24. Like Tommy says, put it on the back and you won't notice it! I had a badly buckled BBS RA on my 8V, put it on the back and couldn't feel a thing, it was great! lol

When i bought my Corrado, i booted it off the one roundabout in 2nd and loved every minute of it. You soon get used to it! lol! Must say though, on selling the Corrado and buying the (potentially) slower MK3, the grin has returned. The 2.8 seems to deliver the power differently, and unless my Corrado was knackered, the 2.8 also seems to have more torque. Hopefully the rolling road day will tell all!
