Its OK in general, i just have always had a thing against Green filters, don't ask me why, i dunno. Sounds OK though, just perhaps looks a bit small........ Justin, will sort out measuring it up tomorrow as its a bit dark now. Its definately small though! -

help...headlights wont turn off!!!!
cliveyp replied to PEDROX's topic in I.C.E, Security an Electrical
oh bugger. Sorry i can't be of much help, but i did have a similar thing with the Rado when the headlight switch broke. I did solve that with pulling the plug off the back though, so obviously yours is a problem further down the line. I don't know as there is a relay either cos VW's tend to be known for their poor headlights which is improved by a relayed loom, but i'm sure as standard there isn't anything, short of pulling the fuses out........ -
thats the same as me mate............there must be an obvious thing that we're missing

Dammit, i never even thought of that! Never mind, sorted the problems now i think. Well, the power cables is through well enough, bu the MDF adaptors that i've made for the tweeters are a little suspect. How does it say to mount them in there??
-
All well and good, but mine hadn't gone last month!

I was quoted 60 odd quid for a base for the Rado and that was just an amplified radio aerial. The Highline one is a Hirschmann (sp?) combined phone/amplified radio so will be even more. I'm just gonna gently drill it out and tap it i think. If i feck it up then i'll look at another answer.

I'll be getting it at the weekend with any luck, although i still need to treat myself to a wheel and pedals for maximum fun!

Fair play, i'm a roight thick focker i am! I can get 19 mins!! I think i must be missing that all important easy thing that you others can see and i can't!! Never been any good at these type of puzzles!!

You know when you get that feeling you shouldn't touch something..............well, that's about whats happened here!! Trying to get my beesting mast off so i can fit my ally one and i find it's really rather tight. I end up ruining the OE one in order to get to the nut in the mast. Once i got to that i put a spanner on the nut, slight turn and............snap. Mast comes off in my hand leaving the thread in the base! NICE JOB!! CHEERS!! lol Anyway, whats the easiest way to get this out??? I'm thinking it may be glued in perhaps, to stop little beggers stealing it in the past, so i'm th

Hmmm, could be worth the trip if theres a few heading down from this way. Could do an all day endurance race, 5 teams of 6 or something.........

Dammit, think it's a bit far south for me! May be interested depending on cost and duration...............

I need new leads. Having heard all the bad press on the GSF cheapies, and not wanting to be bitten on the arse a short way down the line (although the BBT ones that were fitted to the Corrado when i bought it and that were still on it when i sold it caused no problems!), i want to know which way to go. VW black leads (£50-60ish?? not actually got a quote on these as yet but i believe them to be pretty shonky too??) VW red leads (local stealer wants just over 23 quid a piece, so that's nudging 140 quid for the set) Magnecor 8mm (found them at £95 delivered, if anyone knows of cheaper, let me

That really is a fantastic bit of polishing on there Justin. Really gotta buff mine up to that sort of bling as it's just not quite there............
-
Only 48 quid for a genuine item so i ain't that phased. Got it on now and it feels much better. Just gotta sort the front mount with a VT one when i've got the spare money now!!

I think i remember seeing those filters on Volksbits stands at shows the last couple of years. Think they're actually a universal fit cheapy though rather than the expesive one he told you it was. Think they were about 35 quid.........
-
Mines up in the next couple of months so this is an interesting read. Last year the cheapest i found on the Corrado was Elephant. That was £599 F.C with £100 excess for both me and the other half. I was 26, 7yrs NCB and 4 points (SP60). HIC were cheap as chips until i told them i wanted the missus on there too then it went from about £450 to about £1100!! Not sure what the Highline will cost this year but i'm hoping to get it for less!

I get Synta Silver from the cheapest place i can find it when i need it, so most of the time it's the local stealers. Got some on Friday for £15 odd for 5 litres, although i did manage a bargain a while back when i noticed it on the wrong shelf (where the 1 litre bottles should have been judging by the price), and got 5 litres for just over 7 quid!! lol Normally look at getting a few bottles from Inters though, so i'll do that again this year!

The stealers has just rang to say the mount has arrived. Will have an eventful time getting the little fecker on now!

Am i right in thinking that the centre bolt is all that holds it all together and to the car?? What does that centre bolt go into?? I'm wondering cos i had thoughts this morning that perhaps its just come undone....... :? I thinking this cos when i wobbled the engine, the bracket obviously moves, the bolt is free too, but the rubber stays where it is........

i did, although when i think about it, i don't know why....but i did anyway. Probably because there was a few marks on it. I'll get it back to proper shine though. It ain't as bad as it looks in the last 2 pics to be fair.......
