My Toyo's have been on for 22,500 miles, I swapped front to back about 5K ago, I think theres another 5K left, then all 4 will be done in. If you haven't tried them, do, they are a bargain!

Hi, Has anybody else got an annoying intermittent rattle from their sunroof? Mine works fine, so I don't want to try and dismantle it if its a bitch of a job. If someone knows its easy enough to replace the plastic parts I'll be more comfortable in fixing it. &| thanks, Andy

There isn't a quality cross over though, just a capacitor by the looks of it... However only £52 and a dead easy upgrade.
-
Even really powerful auto's seem to get a bit mixed up at that speed. Don't worry too much about it.

To really improve the sound quality, and the only way to do expensive speakers justice, is to get the door card off, and sound deaden everything, try to seal off the pocket the speaker sits in... I'm crap, but managed it on a lazy Sunday in the sun.

I've got a Diamond, not a TDX unfortunately, an M6! Can't comment on the best ever, but mine is very nice, hits harder than my JL 12 W6, and faster, just not quite so loooooowwwww, it may need more power. The TDX look amazing, which is enough reason to get one!!

Its an automatic...

There's probably something wrong if you only get 190 miles to a tank, even without long runs I get nearly 300, the most I've had is 360 miles on a long journey

Oh, I know of some sexy Rockford Fosgate components going cheap

If you're more interested in sound quality, the biggest difference I found after components, amp and sub was to Dynamat the doors and cards, and seal up the actual speaker enclosure. And save money buy getting high quality more specialist equipment from www.talkaudio.co.uk Also use their advice on the best brands you won't yet be aware of, and keep an eye on ebay - nearly all of my install is from ebay! Alpine CD Max, Soundstream reference amp, Diamond Audio Speakers and sub. Alpines use the same CD changer cable already in your car, which is nice.

I don't think either of those are especially aimed at performance driving ? correct me if I'm wrong. Toyo Proxes are good, and despite claims they wear out quickly, the 4 on my car have lasted 20K miles so far, I'd say they're good for another 5K and the grip hasn't dropped off yet...

I never got any extra noise after having the powerflex bushes fitted on the rear beam of my Vento VR6... Not expensive either - about £50 ?! might be slightly out...

There is quite a few rumours of a repeat of the protests where tankers blocked oil refineries and petrol depots etc... Normally as soon as a rumour starts the action follows. Its a bit of a pain not being able to get any petrol, but my employer at the time was quite understanding !

Hi sorry for the thread hijack, Nickbee, thats about the same size mortgage I'm about to start. Hope you don't mind me asking how much a month, and who with? I was about to go with Northern Rock... Hope I'll still have enough money left to get drunk every weekend x)

Its fine, a blob of weld will do. Happened to me, its there for a some sort of sensor that wasn't ever fitted. I think the bolts do eventually rot away. Awesome Gti welded mine at a regular service about a year ago and the car is still hunky dorey on the same exhaust. bet you feel better now! -
Ha Ha, you neighbour from hell ~
-
Awesome are close, which is nice, but no rollers. Where is the famous Stealth Racing located?
-
No probs,
-
Did you get it sorted? Must admit with the glovebox off (just 4 screws) there is loads of room on that side of the stereo behind the dash.
-
Smash the Sony head unit, I had too to stop the alarm! I think the BUS wire is standard fit to VW's with SONY's, I was luck because its the same cable as used in my Alpine. The one supplied wouldn't reach the boot!
-
Or the 'Rabbit' dents on the back straight. One was totally splatted during the day!

I went to the briskoda.net trackday at Bruntingthorpe at the weekend. Its not a real race track, but was great fun, the whole day cost £90 for drivers, and free for passengers. They opened a smaller handling circuit, and the 2 mile straight for some top speed runs for lunch... I'd go back, suitable for about 50+???

According to a TDi expert I know, there is more than just the chip that is different on the different output engines. With a few simple mods both the PD130 and 150 get to around 190-200. But the PD115 won't go as high. The older 110 non PD engine gets to 170ish quite easily though...
