    Golf V

    Hey guys just been to the Golf V launch down here in New Zealand. Pretty interesting car and has a hell of a lot more power from what I can understand. Here is a link to the gti when it comes out - scroll down and you'll find it. Hmm perhaps you guys already have this car over there - o well. http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=1126780 When I first saw the Golf V i have to say it look a lot like the Peugeot 307 on first glance. What do you people think?
  5. Hey people, been a while since I've posted, but am wondering if you may be able to help me out. Usually in the morning the temperature light will come on when I start the car, and it will stay flashing the duration of my trip - however, the whole time the temperature guage stays in the middle of the range and never gets any hotter. When I jump in the car later in the day the light never comes on. I noticed the other night when driving home late that the light then came on. It is getting to winter in NZ - but our winters are nothing like those in the Nth Hemisphere, so any ideas? Cheers in adv
  6. Wow, thought the guy on ebay was all hot air. The have a set on there for 180us. That is less than 250NZ. I was quoted a set in NZ for around 600 and even then im not sure what brand they were.

  8. Cheers for that guys - I think this mod is one of the best looking you can do. Also, the front grill from a Vento looks quite nice. With spliters or skirts etc, can these be installed yourself or better to get it done professionally? Ta

  10. Hey lads - and if there are any women here! I should be putting up a pic of my car this weekend - its driving soooo nicely. Even had a little race thing the other day against some silly geeza in a skyline next to me. I heard myself thinking "o god what does he want?" then, "now don't be silly, just follow the speed limit" then when he started revving this primal instinct overwhelmed me and I knew I had to let the car loose!   11. Well, I wonder where they get their figures from - that it works I mean. Interesting. The other day, I was driving the vr6 on the motorway going around 100km's and when I wanted to overtake the car picked up so quickly, better than when in lower gear ratios. I was pretty stunned. Why is this? Is the vr suited more to open roads?

  13. So vr6pete do you think you got most of your improvement from the new exhaust rather than the filter which only really creates an induction sound? Or have you had other modifications made to your car? Is the sound created by the filter due to the size of the engine? I.e smaller engine smaller sound? and visa versa?
  14. Hi, thanks for that - but for the layman i.e me! can you tell me what a BMC and powerflow are and what their functions are and what sort of improvements one can expect in performance or BHP. What was your cars BHP prior to fitting the BMC and powerflow? Cheers!

Just been reading some of your posts regarding induction kits etc. I was under the belief that to get any real performance benifits you need to do a combination of things to your car i.e. cams, air flow, exhaust etc. I re-routed my air flow - on my now old car (306xsi) and noticed not too much difference in the car, perhaps a small increase in power higher in the revs and a bit more of a growl. Perhaps this is the difference between pugs and VW's - can anyone shed some light on this for me/ Cheers
