VR6 oh so sweet, why did you have to overheat?
Heardy replied to mombajomba's topic in Engine Maintenance and Problems
I'm just in the process of changing my headgasket, but as usual nothing's ever that straight forward. When i took the rocker cover off there were bits of the top tensioner pad sticking out!!!!!!!!!!!!! So now i'm changing the chains tensioners and guides etc. My car is a 1996 vr and has done 120000 miles so bear this in mind when removing the head as it may turn from a small job into a much bigger one. ps (mine was very quite with no rattles or anything) -

Hi I've recently bought a 1996 VR6 and the ABs light is on permanantly i've scanned it using vag-com and it comes up with 01276 abs hydraulic pump (v64) 16-00 signal outside specifications Is this usually the pump itself that is at fault? Cheers Jason

Anyone? Someone must have got some pictures..

Can anyone post me some picture's of which way the aircon pipes should go on a vr6. It's the one that goes across the back of the bulkhead and through the offside inner wing. I'm not sure of which hole in the inner wing it should go through as it does'nt seem to sit right. Prefer some shots of inner wing and also some of where it goes into the aircon drier if possible. Cheers Jason

My Bremi (black) leads i've just fitted fit perfect in the guides and are even numbered same as the originals.Got them from ECP

The clutch on the compressor can still kick in even just with a small ammount of gas in.It would probably still need gasing up.

you can check to see if it's working by switching it on and if you feel the aircon pipes one of them should be quite hot to touch and the other one should be really cold .

I had same problem the wheel being too far away on my corrado,i ended up getting a different momo boss (a shorter one) and what you need to do is to unbolt the centre part of the boss and swap it for a shorter one..

What make were they ?

The leads GSF sell are made by BBT and apparantly they are Crap.Get some Bremi one's from Euro car parts

I've just fitted some new leads and they are exactly the same as the original's (which are also made by Bremi ) They fit in the guides perfect and they are even numbered the same as the originals. [ Edited Mon Dec 06 2004, 09:23PM ]
