  1. is it worth it, if i aint gonna keep it??? I had the cheical test on the header tank because my header was pissing out coolant. Un did the top and it was full to the brim. Total millage is 131k, rebuilt at 92k, so 40k total on the h/g. Not an airlock because there have been no problems as far as temperatures are concerned. He recons the gasket was weak and has been slowly going, with the addition of new antifreeze it was just enough to push it over the edge. How much for the chains????
  2. can u guess, MAF??? Induction?? Plugs an leads? Nope fucking head gasket!!!!!!! Now it ges better, it was replaced less than 40,000 miles ago when i had a short engine rebuild! Wat a crock of shite. Anyway it has to be done agian, so whilst the cylinder head is off what should i replace, and wat sort of prices should i expect. Ive been told £360 with a head skim. Is that resonable. Should i do valve stem seals as well piston rings, what u think. Timing chains???
  3. acf how u know u got low comp in cylinder 3?? When i had my plugs changed 3rd cylinder plug was damp.... y?
  4. mine did, they well rare, thought u might of had them seems u a k plater! Only on the 1st Vr6 GTI's.

  6. Its been running real shite recently, and over the last couple of weeks ive been changing stuff, and its been gettin no worse or better. Today i did oil and filter, and fuel filter, retopped up on anti freeze. Get back in it, now its pulling real hard from low down below 2000rpm. Same as when i got it chipped. Been running fine untill tonite, it started to go up the range goto about 3500 and it seemed to stutter for a milli second then ran like a bag of spanners.... real flat all the way up the range. Sounded like it was missing for a short period of time... i dunno get the leads change

  12. debatable comments, ive just taken off my ViperX (ram Air) and replaced it with the funkai new Apexi dual cone thingy, No heat shield at all, just using the ram air pipe to feed it cold air. I have just found to my delight, ive regained some of my lost low end torque, never had chance to open her right up, so I dont know what she goes like up the range..... so IMO this new cone is better(so far) I do believe its good beacause its cold out, when its warm it may become a different story....... Need a bigger cold air feed with shielding.
  13. well i only got two litlle 10's, but when i up the juice i can sure pump it out, very controlled and very fast reposition.... again its not wat ya got its how its used
  14. i got zymol, mer an high resin polish. All do the job tbh. Zymol really picks up all the stonechips. Mer is chalky, but does come off of the plastic. Resin polish the same....
  15. ai..... loss of back pressure=loss of torque low down, more free flowing at high speeds. Could be the combination of the exhaust as well tho...

  17. mine shaved off some of the plastic, which got wedged under the sliders and caused the slider on the one side to shear off so i couldnt close or open it. Replaced it all now. Mechanism might be tight?? duno
  18. correct! sunroof cartridge is like a big drip tray, with drain plugs in the front corners!
