OK then guys, I'm hoping one of you can help me out here. My radiator fan is still running 5 hours after turning the car off. I only notice 10 minutes ago and now the battery is flat. Also their is a buzzing/pumping noise coming from the top right hand side of the engine. Anyone come accross this before? I'm confused!! Chris

Just had a look at mine for you, took some pics but can't find my USB cable. I can confirm though that it should not be bent!
-
Thanks for the positive responses guys, fingers crossed i'll be able to get it lowered in a few weeks time.
-
Though it was about time I posted some photos of my car, fitted all the lights on Sunday afternoon after purchasing them from GTI festival I know I know it needs lowering!! let me know what you all think Cheers
-
simey, can that do any damage to the 'box?

Is their any particular technique to launching an auto VR? I'm going to the GTI Fest at Santa Pod next Sunday and fancy a run down the strip and was looking for some advice. Cheers Chris

I'll get pics up later hopefully (When I get back from work and have washed it) This is the STW I really want a set of coilovers but can't really afford it at the moment. Which wheels do the VR6's have as standard as mine hasn't got them on. It has a set of 15" 5 spokes off the mark 4's.

Well after 2 months of VR6 ownership I finally get to drive the feckin thing! Its a real change to my Punto GT thats for sure!! The car is basically standard at the moment, just an airfilter to release the VR6 roar!! I was thinking about a SS exhaust but don't really want it to be noisy just for looks. I like the scorpion STW style and was wondering is it worth just getting the backbox or should i go for the full system? Cheers Chris

Well the box is coming out tomorrow anyway (fooked auto 'box) but its being sorted by the warrenty company, i'm going to try and talk the garage into doing this at same time and bill it to them. you think they will do it?

just checked eurocarparts.com and they have a genuine chain for £15.70 and the tensioners are £17.68, are these not the correct ones or something? [ Edited Tue Jun 01 2004, 04:28PM ]

I'm going to go for coilovers but not for a short while (Got to save some pennies + i'm off on holiday soon) As for the lights etc, i am hoping to pick up some fogs/indicators at inters as i have a crack in the passenger side fog. I'm not too sure about the M3 style lights though, the car is Indian red and i think the smoked rear lights really suit it. As for the exhaust, what do you all suggest? i don't want it too noisey mind. My shopping list for inters so fas is Debadged grill, fogs/indicators, smoked side repeaters. Cheers for your replies so far

Ok guys, i have recently bought a 1994 Golf VR6 auto to replace my Punto GT (which is up for sale if anyone is interested) The VR is basically standard apart from a filter. What are the best mods to start with and how much am i looking at? I don't just mean engine mods i mean any mods whatsoever. I'm going to inters next Sunday. (Bloody 4 hours away!) and was hoping to pick up a few bits and bobs then. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated Chris

Check this out, seems a little steep to me. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=9873&item=2475803405&rd=1

Well i've just bought a VR on an L plate, with 90k on clock. It has no smoking what so ever, i'm guessing at that amount of milage you shouldn't really have any smoking.
-
Any ideas how much that costs? I'm guessing its a gearbox out job to do, am i right in thinking that its about an 8 hour job?
-
Well whatever it is went completely last night and i had o get the AA to tow me home. The AA guy seemed to think it was the torque converter. Can this not be replaced? Is a new 'box really needed? Thanks for your reply
