the car still only idles at 500!!!

think i'm gonna have to go for one of these zymol kits!i can't beleive for one minute that it's a waste of money.i used to use auto glym, but found it pretty dull compared to the £10.00 bottle of zymol from halfords!
-
thats just it!polish from car shops is shit!they don't use names like silver seal and super seal.i had my neighbour get his car done by a 'pro' valeter, and to be quiet honest,i wouldn't trust that company with a matchbox car!he even asked me who i got to do mine!!!!
-
well i replaced my coolant sensor to the ecu and wondered how to reset the ecu.is it something that can be done easily?
-
i have the cheap one from halfords, and found that far better than the meguires stuff i bought recently.the kits are between £225.00 and £275.00.just wondered how easy it was to use?
-
has anyone got or used one of these expensive kits?was wondering if anyone has any idea how good they are? ?!

mine does it when the car's static.gonna spend the evening trying to find it!LOL!
-

-
would only go to a vr specialist or main dealer myself!i have heard some bad stories about 'mechanics'(or is that maniacs???) that hacve a stange habbit of getting the timing wrong when@slinging it back together!also, while it's off,i'd do the guides 'n' seals on the valves!cost more, but cheaper than removing the head twice!

Oil burning - Newbie needs help
wilko-vr6 replied to Geastb's topic in Engine Maintenance and Problems
strange that 1 and 6 are the first to go!i was under the impression when chatting to the main man on the vr6 owners club that the headgasket tends to creep around that end of the block as i had a bit of coolant weep coming from that end.i done what he said(torqued down the head and it cured it!i wonder if there may be an oil way/gallery at that end of the block which may let oil into the bores?i changed my exaust to a stainless system and notice my car smokes now!!!!!gutted!!!!anyone else had that problem???? -
my local vag main dealer charges £370.00 for the job!and he quotes about 5 hours if memory serves me right!!!!
-
i think you will find that straight cut gears are more efficient due to the fact that helical gears produce sideways torque as well therefore sapping more power from the engine than straight cut gears
-
not sure, but you may need to check you have the correct amount of pins as it may link up with the rear door on that side of the car too!
-
the temperature sensor is in the driver's side vent on the front bumper,i believe!(below the fog/indicator aperture
-
as soon as i put new plugs on the car,it runs silky smooth.just get tese black bits sometimes on the rear of the car!just like when you burn to much aceytelene, not oil deposits.i can remove them with a duster!!!not the sort of thing i want to be seen dead doing in the car park LOL!!!!
-
oh yeah,my car has just had a stainlee 2 box system from powerflow fitted, and i notice plack deposits on the boot!is the car running rich?i may not have had these in the past left on the boot as the original exhaust was not upswept like the one i have now!any ideas?i also run a k and n induction kit.just wonder whether the car running rich maybe causing plugs to break down!?!?!

the plugs give up the ghost!i start to get a misfire!!!the plugs seem ok when i take them out.i have done 20,000 miles in 18 months on ngk, bosch, and champion plugs!!!!my cossie never used to eat them that quick!!!!
-
is my engine the only one that has a bad habbit of eating spark plugs????can anyone offer suggestions as to why mine does this?never known a car to go through them as quickly as mine!3 sets in 18 months!!!!
-
anyone with any questions'call me on:07770746231 if you call me and i don't answer, text me as i may be at work.LOL!i do happen to have the last set of mj interior front seat adaptors if anyone wants a quick fix solution to fit the front seats?£35.00
-
well i got mine in no problem!fronts are all welded in!you need to thin the plastic wheels down to fit the mk3 runners.a simple bracket can be made up to fit the front seat, but you need to get them welded in!mine cost me £40.00 and was done in 2 hours.the rear seat will fit with a little bit of planning too!you need to order the centre pivot for a mk4,go to a breakers yard, and cut out the suspension turret clips to hook up to the backrests.then it's just a case of a bit of welding!have fun,cos believe me,the result is perfect!i have a mk 4 leather recaro trim in mine and it looks factory fit!
