if you want more pre outs autoleads do a speaker convertor plug that will plug in and give you an additional two sets of preouts, about twenty quid, can also get an in line level control so you can control sub independantly of speakers so you can always get the best from it
-
if i remember correctly has one non fade rear pre out low voltage at about 1.0v and is non adjustable. if same unit did win car hi fi gold award years back

what size speakers in front doors?
grayo94 replied to stu h's topic in I.C.E, Security an Electrical
make sure is sealed though as leakage will be detrimental to bass and will lower the power handling of the speaker, also golf has components so if your jbls are only two way you can get harsh treble cause of two tweeters running and if standard tweeters disconnected can result in loss of imaging as the tweeter will fire straight into your feet -
was reset as i was in car at time and made sure of that, did three tests in total, same codes each time. seen that part on ebay, was gutted as just ordered it from vw earlier after stealth kindly hunted down the part number for me,
-
spoke to stealth, they gave me the part number so i could get it from local dealer, 32 quid plus vat. refreshing to find someone who offered to give me the part number without gaining any profit for themselves, will have to pay them a visit and get the car on the rollers to see if all is rectified.

was tested with engine on and off showed these faults both times, car has obeen overfuelling and dropping power over time, judders a bit at low revs and has lost about 25bhp on rollers, also pointed to lambda but they said that was prob because fuelling was screwed up by other sensors, will nip down vw and see if they have hall sender
-
overfuelling and lumpy when cold, garage said will be running in limp mode until sensors replaced

GOLF VR6 JERKING INTERMITANT PROBLEM
grayo94 replied to NICHOLIS's topic in Engine Maintenance and Problems
hope it is 12 quid relay mine been getting worse over last year with exactly same problem, for 12 quid give it a go as i was told the same by vw no fault. i have also found that the car goes through loads more fuel than previously. hope this does the trick been doin my nut in -
amp will not usually put out some frequencies and not others, sounds like the speakers to me, would try a mates amp first to check

best system for remote start prob clifford as car will stay locked and cut out if any one trys to nick it while engine running after using remote start, however check that the fitter will give you the certificate as my company would not as remote start negates thatcham cat one status. lots of companies will though, just no comeback if insurance find it on there in the unlikely event of someone managing to nick it

clifford manual and technical bulletains all highlight the fact that blackjax ( also valet switch tends to wear out when blackjax on)and intellistart which is available for the g5 range and can be retrofitted to g4 range negate cat one status. one of first things they tell at installers and sales staff meetings. Quite easy to change the dual zone prox sensor for a standard clifford microwave so no more chirping. (dual zone prox not standard on concept 300 which is still available) . both toad and clifford good alarms, take your choice.
-
remote start is not thatcham compliant, the same with blackjax, not sure about closure, although we always do closure for people buying cat one

Clifford dual prox sensors/smart windows
grayo94 replied to Pittuf's topic in I.C.E, Security an Electrical
dual zone prox can be hidden away we usually put them under the plastic surrounding the hand brake as well. adjustment on the concept 300 is manual. if smart windows not workin compare overall price with concept 500 as it has same as concept 600, remote control over the prox sensor and also allows you to shut just the external zone of the prox sensor down if you are in a busy area. cannot do that on manual adjustment prox sensors. also do not put coins above or near prox as interferes with microwave signal and can cause false alarms. -
i agree with you concept 6 awesome in terms of features just some people have to have alarm for insurance. seen too many people gutted after have inspected car recovered by insurance and telling them their alarm not cat one cos of legislation and getting no payout. have had concept 6 on one of my cars but was not an insurance requirement. you would be surprised at the number of companies who do not inform people of what can invalidate cat one in order to get more cash out of them
-
concept 600 not cat one if intellistart fitted, sounds like you have blackjax enabled again not cat one when functioning also low voltage start not cat one if declaring your 600 as cat one be carefull if car goes missing. if found and checked by insurance company no payout, does have loads of cool features though. manage a sextons in south wales and to be honest try to avoid fitting clifford, too many comebacks. if you want all the gadgets clifford is tops, reliability wise hardly ever get any toad stuff back
-
do not always be tempted by any cheap offers if company goes bust you will be stuck for spares always go for well known make also make sure has easy overide in case of loss of keyfob or non responsive alarm otherwise usually quite straightforward
-
both keys will have the chip if you fitting clifford and the fitter wants both keys the only reason i can think for this is that you are having intellistart fitted. if so be waened that any alarm fitted with remote start no longer meets thatcham cat one criteria
-
if car already got closure, most do do not get tucked up with big extra charge to get it workin. only case of connecting one wire off most decent alarms like toad ai606 or clifford concept 300. also ask to have it on seperate button or done so can be overidden or you will be unable to ever leave windows down a touch with alarm on
-
as far as i am aware all vr6 i have fitted alarms to have transponder in the key. no way you can check unless you have broken key with no end on it. may be wrong but fit cat one alarms to golfs most weeks in work.

not many of us about in wales are there

if not having much joy try some right angle rca connectors available from a company called autoleads sold in all halfords stores or sextons car audio did the trick on mine
