    a 97 engine is obd2 a k plate will have the obd1 engine im not sure how easy it is to swap as there r a few diffrences

    mine doesnt leak but does use a bit atm its down to worn valve stem oil seals but vw say 1 litre every 1k miles is ok lol

    only possibly slightly damp interior mine did it a few days ago when i left a wet/damp chamois in the car ps aircon is fantastic at demisting windows lol

    yeh its easy to get mpg readin max ie 99.9 i think by buildin a fair bit of speed up ie 3 figs then drop it out of gear and reset the trip ya cheats lol

    im interested in a 6 spd rebuilt with diff bolts instead of pins a lower final drive (3.68??) and an lsd as a long term project

    cant comment on the soggy handling as iv never driven 1 with standard suspension but the gearbox aint the best imho

    vr6 r proper quick mid range with a schrick gives a genuine shove in the back at 3k rpm
