    vr has a VERY diffrent torque curve to a turbo lump it sounds 50 times better than a cossie though hehe

    put it this way my vr revs to 6800 rpm and does 70 mph in 2nd ctr revs to 8250 and does 55-58!!

    i managed to get to rensport who have the car to fit an alarm i started it from cold and there was no hint of anything let alone oil smoke what MAY have happened is incorect oil level reading and me over filling the oil hence the smoke as its never done it before il have to keep a close eye on it when i get it back im missing it now im driving a 1.6 8v polo which is reasonably pokey at low revs but it sure aint a vr hehe

    the 24v IS a vr6 as is an r32 and the audi 3.2

    yes i remember the head its gonna cost me £400 i dont have any slap yet afaik it only started smokin when cold the other day and havnt had the car since as rensport r sortin the alarm under warrenty

    i havnt got the tools or the balls to remove the engine lol i draw the line at fitting a schrick how reliable is a 3l rebore?? and getting an endoscope stuck down the bores next weekend to check for wear

    somebody tested an obd1 vr agaisnt escort cossie (possibly autocar) they got 7.1 from it the cossie obviously annihalated the vr 0-30 mph BUT (and this suprised me) from any speed above 30 mp to any speed (including top end) the vr either matched or beat (not by much) the cossie lol
