torque = power alot of ppl dont realise that BUT you can make a car quick with relativly little torque compared to bhp ala civic type r it only makes 145 lb ft (which is decent for a 2l) but it keeps making good torque at silly revs due to vtec which is variable valve timing the key ingrediant is gear ratios my car is similar 1/4 mile to a stock ctr (slightly quuicker in my experiance lol) my engine revs to 6800 and does 70 mph in 2nd compared to the civic which has 8200 rpm!!! and only does about 55!! ctr 2nd gear multiplies the tiorque FAR more than a vr 2nd gear does but the vr is quick bec

probably does a little (claims 10 bhp so id guess a 5 bhp and lb ft gain all through) but it sounds great either way hehe

thge aux water pump does bugger all when the engines running afaik what it does is run for a few mins after switch off bit like a turbo timer the pump helps to prevent hotspots around the head

het eddy its next to the throttle body on obd1 vrs so early 2.8s and all 2.9s

yep have you cleaned the throttle body? also try resseting the throttle body this is done by turning the key to ignition DONT start the car leave in that position youll here a high pitched buzz/whistle itl last between 5 and 30 seconds when it stops start the car

i take no notice of them as they dont affect the time they varied from .19 to .92 lol

i went today with a mate in a passat vr6 it pixxed it down till 1 we were brassed off and contemplating comin home when the rain buggered off and the fun began we now both have new pbs his is now 16.2 mines 14.698 i saw a cpl of purple highlines running mid 15s and a 230 bhp rx8 runnin 16s so im chuffed i did 5 runs in total with these results 1 15.2 @ 94.5 2 14.9 @ 94.7 3 15.3 @ 95.3 (messed the start up too many revs to harsh with clutch) 4 14.721 @ 97.6 (beat old pb by 6 1/1000ths lol) 5 14.698 @ 95.52 vids on request
