  1. Thanks both. Ordered the Beru coilpack from vwspares.co.uk
  2. Hi, Need a new coilpack & was wondering what people thought of the Bremi ones that Eurocarparts & GSF sell compared to the Beru that I can get from vw spares? Bremi is £30 cheaper with a discount code from Eurocarparts & I can pick up today while 2 days lead time for the Beru one from vw spares? Thanks
  3. Thanks all for your help so far cannot wait for Magnecor to get back to me again. Going to get some Beru Leads (believe these are OEM) from here http://www.vwspares.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=646 unless anyone can recomend anything better? Think that GSF used to do the Bero Leads but showing as BBT on their site at the moment.
  4. Magnecor have been trying to help & are going to talk to my mechanic. He is a a VW specialist & has been doing conversions etc for years so I trust his opinion. Looks like if i want it sorted this side of Christmas I am going to have to get another set of leads to add to the two sets of magnecors that I have. Having the Schrick manifold is the extra headache in changing the leads. Any other recomendations on leads as if they sort the issue I may as well keep them on for the time being due to the Schrick manifold?
  5. Thanks both. Plugs were changed about 2 months ago. They said the damage was on the plug as tool was not used - my mechanic does use the tool though! Defo think the issue is with the leads as car is now running much worse than it was & the leads are the only thing that have been changed. The set that was on there gave a slight hesitancy the refurbed set miss-fire all over the place making the car almost undriveable. Maybe I have been unlucky but did not expect to get so little time out of 2 sets of what are supposed to be quality leads. Will try & get the leads swapped back o
  6. Gone through two sets of Magnecor 8mm HT leads in less than 25,000 miles First set started giving me problems at about 15,000 miles so got another set that again started giving me problems. So sent the first set off to Magnecor for warranty repair but had to pay them to fix them as the claimed they have been damaged in a way they see a lot so not covered by warranty. Was told they had been fixed, fully tested & were as good as new. Got them fitted today & the car is seriously miss-firing on what are supposed to be 'as good as new leads'. Not happy at all especially as I hav
  7. Thanks so assume that the 4 motion sump is aluminium? I'll see if my mechanic can tell me which one it is when I next see him
  8. Hi, Have an aluminum sump on my VR which has a small crack and is weeping so needs replacing and I want to replace like for like. It was on the car when I brought it & I am sure that the previous owner said it was off a V6 Motion rather than from an R32. Does anyone know if the 4 Motions sumps are a straight fit on the VR opposed to having to change the oil pump if using an r32 sump or the best way of finding out what car the sump is from without taking it off? Thanks, Zak
  9. Thanks all. It was the seals so got a new pair and will fit today
  10. ok thanks. Assume the seals are main dealers parts?
  11. HI All, I have water getting into the boot of my VR. The rear passenger side light is also showing signs of water penetration. Is this the most likely cause or are there other areas that I should be looking at as well? Thanks, Zak
  12. HI All, Been ages since I posted on here but I have been keeping an eye on things. Anyway thinking of getting rid of my VR & have an 2002 Audi S3 in mind. I know this is a VR forum but would like opinions on the difference between the two cars & any plus or minus points. Would remap the S3 if I get it & the main driving force is wanting something a little newer, but also nice to drive without much of a price difference. Ideally would love to be getting an Edition 30 or MKV GTI but too expensive for me at the moment especially as i would want a decent spec one without too many m
  13. One day only at selected stations - see link below http://www.shell.co.uk/home/content/gbr/products_services/on_the_road/fuels/v_power_pkg/valentine_promotion/
  14. that reminds me this is the 2nd time it has broken as I used a B&Q bracket the first time & that broke within a couple of months so got the original bmc one after that which has lasted nearly 2 years before braking as well
  15. Ok may try the wing side got Vibra Mounts all round with less than 2000 miles done of them so hope that is not the problem!
  16. Got the original one of these last time & it has now broken again :-( Am I just unlucky or doing something wrong?
  17. My Insurance is due now & it has gone up by 19% year on year. Thought I would shop around to see if I could get anything better & halfway through trying the usual suspects some of the quotes I have been getting are for over £1.5k & some have refused to quote! My car is modified (see sig) but is a second car & I have full NCB & nearly 20 years of claim & accident free driving. Anyone else finding it harder to get insurance for their modified cars harder? Been told that insurance on cars with mods has increased by 35% due to claims in the last year.
  18. Did Fraudley even land a punch of note? Paid for it & feel robbed :-(
  19. Managed to fill all 3 cars in the household up yesterday. Not sure if i should be happy with the savings or sad that i spent over £170 on fuel in one day
  20. Another vote for Haye. Hope it's a good fight so i get my £15 worth
