  1. I have a Schrick VGI on my car & love the way it moves the torque lower down the rev range which is ideal for normal driving. When I was looking for a VR all the standard ones I drove felt sluggish until later in the rev range. Depends what your after really & what other mods you may have planned?
  2. Shell V Power all the time for me with Tesco's Super being the only other fuel I will put in it from time to time. Both my VR & 16v seem to pull & run better with the higher octane fuel. V Power is £1.23 per litre near me at the moment - good job i do not do that many miles per year
  3. Stealth told me they make the same power as standard so not a mod worth doing unless you want it for the sound
  4. After being with the AA for many years & paying more than £100 per year without calling them out I switched to these guys http://www.autoaidbreakdown.co.uk/works01.htm 3 years ago. They have been one of the top ones on moneysavingexpert for the last few years. £37 per year covers me & my wife in any car that we are driving. It's a pay & reclaim scheme but suits me fine at that price :-)
  5. Agree with B7D VR HID's are the way to go. If you decide to stay standard then Philips Extreme power are the bulbs to go for
  6. Agree with Binliner go with the Collinite. The 476 is just as good & cheaper as well http://www.elitecarcare.co.uk/collinite-super-double-coat-auto-wax-no-476s-18oz.php?cPath=66
  7. As above i'd go with a Miltek if i were in your shoes. I have a Supersprint on mine but think they have been discontinued for the MK3 so best to buy something that is still being made.
  8. forgot to add that drilled discs are more for looks than anything else. This http://www.raceshopper.com/tech.shtml#brake_performance is an interesting read on brake upgrades
  9. There website is http://www.costco.co.uk but no products on there :-( You also need to be a member. If anyone wants some & is nearby to me, can wait till one of the shows I am attending or wants me to post them, then I can get some for you.
  10. Thats a shame Ben as they do loads of good stuff. Seems like the detaling bug is slowly getting you! Pics of microfibre 36 pack below (taken from detaling world)
  11. Costo are doing 36 microfibre cloths for £9.99 & 2 microfibre drying towels for £7.03. Got one pack of each for myself :-d
  12. I used to spend hours trying to keep my RS's clean & nearly froze to death on a few occasions. The RX's on the VR are simple too clean in comparison. All this cleaning talk & I have not cleaned mine in the last 2 months as it has been raining, snowing or way to cold on my planned cleaning days!
  13. Cool, I had a set of BBS RS on my old MK1 Golf. Looked fab but were terrible to keep clean & found they started to corrode quickly due to them being in 3 pieces & crap getting in between them. Took them back to the shop i got them from after 6 months
  14. ok cool Tony is the man for the job. You just reminded me I need to PM him aswell as i have a few other bits for him to do.
  15. sorry not sure if I made it clear that the clutch was on top of the £232 wish I could have got it all for that price!
  16. ok dug out my invoices & paid £232 which included all the parts to do the chains as well as an oil filter, 2 5L bottles of synta oil, 2 bottles of coolant & 2 bottles of gear box oil. Also changed the clutch when I did mine which cost £105 after the £20 rebate for returning the old clutch
  17. Lovely car there. Well worth the wait. Are you planning on attending any meets this year?
  18. Think it was about £240 or so including the clutch using a friends trade account at TPS. Will dig out the receipts & confirm tomorrow.
