hi yeah its def the head studs and they are raceware ones, looks as though there is slight wheaping of oil also around the head gasket!? would i be losing power through this as my car has been running really choppy since getting the new head, Cheers -
how much did it cost for all that?

i have oil leaking out the top of my head studs WTF! after my normal burn home from work i had a quick look under the hood and saw oil bubbling out the tops of the head studs any one know if this is bad? i have just had a new head put on and all the gaskets, %-6 x) -
what does it looklike? how much is a new one? sometimes when my vr is just idling on my drive it sits at 500 then just sort of jumps 1000 would this have anything to do with this ISV?

have a look on e bay i got my twin fans and cowling on there for 20quid

my Vr had been running a bit dodgy sometimes when i stop at traffic light or a junction and then go to pull away the car starts jumping like cutting out then sorts it self out after 10-15 sec? and no its not my clutch control!! also not getting as much top end power as i used to through the gears sort of bottoming out i have a fse boost valve could that be doing it? any ideas Cheers

i have a cable in my mk2 vr, i have to change it fairly often though about every 3 months they wear out where the cable gos into rubber case its just a standard mk2 gti cable, you can use a hydrolic peddal box from a passat so i have been told , im also using a mk3 vr6 rad with mk2 single fan sits in fine, but a corrado rad is a much better fit and you can fit the twin fans behind, i can mail you some photos if you want? sound like you def need to change the rad x) :@ good luck,,

my rocker cover gasket is leaking oil does anyone know it this would make me lose power? will be changing it this weekend though! cheers people %-6 !amazed

im just in the process of changing my head gasket does anyone know if its worth using a 3 Layer metal head-gasket even though I don't have a turbo, also im thinking of using head studs instead of bolts. i would be grateful on any advice :! :? %-6 !amazed cheers

anyone know any web sites with info about taking off the head? photos ect.. how hard is it anything i need to watch out for any info would be a great help Cheers x) :| :! ?!

i had a ram air on mine and the noise was wicked, i have changed to a bmc now which is def not as noisy which is good for going on longer drives and dosent suck all the hot air from the engine bay in!

help!! i was having a bit of a race when my car started to slow down and realised it was miss fireing and making loads of noise! so i pulled over and saw one of the plugs had blowen out but its taken the thread out with it so the plug cant be screwed back in , has this happend to anyone else? what should i do? %-6 %-6 x) :! Cheers

my mk2 vr gos through a rad a month ;p lucky they are only 70 quid down eurocarparts, mine was making the same noise soon as i started up it was a really rough sound it turned out to be the power steering pump

mine was doing that i found out it was the plastic bit around the cowling the fan was rubbing slightly, i just took it off now its sorted..

i just changed my power steering pump the noise has gone! ahhh silent car once again well untill i put my foot down!!

i did it its pretty easy should take 20 mins max, the part cost 75 pounds from VW , G&S charge about £45 but they told me there is none left in the country!?

so if i am faceing my car the chain is on the rhs? i have been told its in the same side as the belt tensioner??

hi mate i have the same noise on my car i just changed the belt tensioner + belt, the noise is still there i changed the alternator aswell still no joy!! i think its something to do with the chain runners i have just booked it in with stelth who are gonna sort it out, other than that the car is running like a dream done 500+ miles in it at the weekend so the problem cant be that bad............ is yours still driving ok??

the part you are on about is it the part number 021145299c? are the belt / chain s the same? mine is sounding a bit noisey my local garage said its the belt tensioner?
