    I am fairly new to the VR6 world and would appreciate some good advice on replacement of timing chains. Basically, I need to know when it should be changed, how long it normally takes (i assume it is an engine lift and gearbox seperation), and if doing it myself, gestimated costs of parts required etc. Is it necessary to change engine mounts etc whilst the lump is out?? Any help appreciated. I could simply go to VW dealer but am not keen on their labour prices. Anyone recommend a quality garage in the bournemouth / Salisbury area. Cheers Mick

    Can anyone confirm for me if a set of 15" 5 stud wheels off the Mk3 Golf (I think off the Colour Concept) 6 1/2J will fit a 98R Passat TDI. they have an ET of 43. i know its not a VR6 issue but i am selling a set on Ebay and have been asked the question. HELP, Quick!!!!!

    so then, am i right in saying that Koni's are well recommended even if you dont want to lower. If i did want to lower,(which i am debating after having had quite a harsh ride on my MK2) wots a good set up for my Auto VR6 as it is a heavier set up than the manual???

    I have a small leak coming from the front of my auto box, it is starting to cover the underside of the protective guard. having removed the guard and taken a look, it appears to be leaking from what i assume is a breather half way up the front underside of the box. Is this a breather? Can it be removed simply and the 'o' ring or seal be changed easily. What is the procedure for refilling the box or topping up?? Help!! x) x)

    great guide to use. quick tip, make sure you scroll all the way down before you start working out your own calculations like i didn't. the handy 'do it for you' table saves you time haha

    sos for my ignorance, where are Stealth??? always like to use recommended garages. do they just do garage work or do they also supply parts etc

    i too had really bad service from them last year. I ordered quite alot of parts from them for my Mk2 at the time including Big bumper conversion, smoked lights etc etc. All was confirmed 'in stock' during the order phone call. Only half of it arrived a few days later and when i asked where the rest was, i was told that it wasn't in stock. In addition, some of the kit they sent was not for my car and the wrong spec. Having sent a pointless letter of complaint and all the goods back, i still didnt recieve an apology or anything. I dont recommend anyone use them. Poor poor service.

    I have a set of OZ titans 16". Having gone thro a set of Avon ZV 1's in about a year (approx 15k miles) i am reluctant to buy these again due to the short life they gave me. Any suggestions for a decent hard long life (ish) tyre that will give me at least 20k miles. i havent lowered the car yet but am planning on upgrading the suspension in the near future. any recommendations of a good quality ride that will suit this wheel size without compromising the ride quality too much. many thanks.

    Hi, anyone know where i can get a set of BBS centre caps to fit my standard 96 P plate, without paying out rip off prices from the stealers (dealers)?
