  1. What kind of boost are you running fella?
  2. Wayne, you certianly know your stuff! I actually paid £1250 for my charger and all the bits that go with it (including a specially made throttle body elbow) it has just recently been rebuilt. New barings etc. It does spin up well and god don't I love the sound of it. You'll find yourself never listening to the stereo!!!
  3. Rims are lookin sweet mate. Just like me, I love as set of rims that dazzle in the dark!!
  4. I love those rims, they really suit VR's. Any other pics?
  5. Ah, I so love a girl thats into her cars. Mine just doesn't have a clue
  6. Yep, correcto mundo fella. Mine is humming it's little head off at the moment. Its the near side one (passenger side) I find the best way to work out which one has gone, is to leave it untill it talks to you!! hehehe It'll be the massive rims we all have that fooks them, Next will be the steering rack my friend!!!
  7. Put it this way mate. I wasted an S4 Cabriolet on the motorway on Saturday and had a great race with a day old Audi RS4, stayed with him to the top of 2nd gear then he started to gradually pull away from me and we hit a roundabout. I haven't had decent R/R session yet due to a couple of little problems but it has to be making reasonable power now.
  8. You need no internal mods under 8psi fella. Any more your going to need extra cooling (intercoler) and then more than that compression issues will arise and so will detonation. Injectors are a problem above 6.5psi as I have found out. Mine are pulsing at nearly 100% at 5,500rpm! Thats why that kit in the thread offers red top injectors for the stage two. If you use big injectors for low boost the car will run too rich as you can't turn them down enough (thats why Millsys car flamed out!). I have had my whole engine re-built as it needed it (don't ask!) It's now 2.9 with forged pistons (standar
  9. Cheers guys, it's taken a lot of time and will probably never be finished! (No way I can get to Justins standards!) And I am officially as skint as a bastard after the charger investment! But hey, after staying with a day old V8 RS4 on Saturday, it was worth all the money in my bank occount!!!
  10. Sorry to put a downer on this thread but it sounds like exactly the same symptoms as I had. I had my head re-built because I thought it was guides and seals and took the risk of leaving the rings (big mistake!!) My rings, pistons and bores where fooked fella and the car had only covered 60,000 miles! Check out my previous threads mate, I've even posted up a picture of my old pistons, they were BADLY scored. A good way to tell is if you have some piston slap, it can be easily mistaken for a noisy follower or chain rattle. What happens especially on the overrun is that the engine will suck oil u
  11. Well guys, the saga continues. Nearly there though.
  12. Beautiful mate. Not many charged VR's with them on fella
  13. If it's a 300 you may just stay with it in a straight line, I'd expect a good 50-60bhp to be lost through the transmission, plus the fact that it weighs 1400kg compared to our 1200kgs. Thats if you come across a standard one. If you come across a bend forget it!!! If you come across a bend and a good driver, don't even bother!!
  14. I've been having a few issues with my new charger, which I wont go into (long story) But hopefully I now have them sorted and I have been waiting to have a play with a quick car to find out if mine is running properly. This weekend I had two very interesting races on the way back from Plymouth, I wasted an 04 Audi S4 cabriolet on the motorway which felt wicked, as he stared with mouth wide open as I went by him at 130mph But I had the best race ever with a brand spanking Audi RS4 and I managed to near enough stay with the bloody thing!!! He pulled up next to me at some lights in Leeds and we b
  15. Nice work guys. See you there!
  16. Nice one guys. "Jimbo Thrust" Not quite yet!!! Hope you had a good one Nikki.
  17. Its mine today as well!! Happy birthday to us! 29 for me, still hanging on to my youth!!
  18. Just put a charger on mine and I have a little problem, but it should be being fixed shortly. Apparently you will be shooting yourself in the foot if you lower the compression on our blocks and only run low-ish boost. As you will need to produce higher boost to compensate for the lower compression, you can up to higher boost safely with lower compression. Thats why a stock block with 6-7psi runs so well. Mines running shite at the mo as when I visited Stealth last Monday I found out to my horror that my timing was out!! Going to be corrected in the next two weeks but is producing a safe 210bhp
  19. Hope it goes ok mate. It'll be worth it in the end!
  20. OK I'll tell you my story. I had quite a similar problem mate and convinced myself it was valve guides and stem seals. I had my whole head re-built and a couple days later the smoking re-appeared. The problem lay with worn oil rings and bores, on vacuum (overrun) the compression of then engine was sucking oil up passed the oil and compression rings and the engine was burning it off, I also developed terrible piston slap over a period of time and many people thought it was follower noise. I would ask you how many miles your VR has done but mine had only covered 60k!!! The reason for all this ha
  21. Who's seent the Corrado a few videos down? Turbo'd and supercharged!!!! Now thats FOOOOOKIN nuts!!!
  22. That guy certianly seems to know what he's doing!
  23. Good deal, but i'd really recommend finding someone how can teach you how to use it properly, I'm not sugessting anyone is stupid by any means but apparently it's so easy to burn paint work with them.
