  1. Oooops, i'd say a deffo ban, did they let you drive off? I'm surprised if they did. My mate got nicked doing 115mph and I had to drive his car back to the station wilst he was taken in the Police car. I would have thought it wasn't a deffo 145mph (speedo accuracy). Ooops is all I can say my friend, bend over and take it like a man i'm afraid!!
  2. I had my rears done about a month ago and they are perfect. If you're gonna get them done as Justins says, you must have them painted as old paintwork will crack under the stress of rolling. The guy that does all my body work has done many show cars that have been in Golf+ and alot of tuning companies cars, one problem though, he's all the way up here in Leeds sorry dude. Unless you wanna travel P.S He is very reasonable price wise.
  3. Nice work guys and gals, I really wish I could have donated these banners for nothing but unfortunatley the banner materials are very expensive and I managed to get them printed and made at cost and the design was obviously free cos I did it. All donations are for everyone's benefit and we can all demonstrate how proud we are of our cars and club. They have been used at two shows now and they really draw a crowd around our cars. We'll soon get the club in a mag guys, I promise
  4. Looks like it may be going in that phat Rado! At least he can do his hair when he pops in to the garage for some oil!
  5. Hi Paul, I do have leather Speeds in the front of my car and MK4 seats are a bit of a nightmare to fit apparentely. If your gonna do it properly my advice would be to call MJ Interiors as I didn't have the proper subframes for the seats so I had to get the correct ones from Recaro shipped over. Please, please, please dont get them welded or anything like that because if god (forbid) you are in an accident they wont be strong enough in an impact. I'm sure you will probably get them in but it wont be cheap to do it properly, budget for an extra
  6. hey, thats a bit of fun!
  7. Why is it that a proper polishing looks so much better than chrome? Folling or little chat last weekend mate, i'm having a crack at the rocker cover this weekend. Really looking forward to it (not!!!)
  8. Got my car back today, all done, looks the dogs, coming down, bringin' banners, sorted!
  9. Classic A's my friend. Looking sweet.
  10. Its usually Toddington services off the M1 north bound fella 8-8.30am (cant remember the junction). Hey Mark, you said that without moving your lips!!
  11. Mate, I've seen a few of these covers around and in my opinion they look a bit pants. It looks as if your covering up a mess. I saw one golf at santa pod a couple months back with them and the engine bay was stinking and hed just plonked on the covers (real poo!) You cant beat a nice polished rocker cover and inlet. It's not that hard to do yourself and is much cheaper. If money is no object get an ally rocker cover from an OBD1 and get it chromed along with ya inlet. Just got an OBD1 rocker off ebay and the polishing begins this weekend!
  12. I'll hopefully be coming. Not sure if I'll get my car back from the bodyshop in time though. One note, guys, if the club does require the banners for this event, I will need some conformation as to if they are wanted for keeps as I need to get them fixed permanently. I have had a conversation with Claire today and hopefully the club will buy them with help from a few members. Fingers crossed.
  13. Thanks guys, a wicked weekend and thanks to all the hardcore that kindly supported the club and and the stand. Give youselves a good old pat on the back!
  14. Just got back from me hols and i'm nice and brown! hehehe Thanks for all your positive feedback, i'm glad they look ok. Gonna take the banners in to work tomorrow and sort out the teething problems and the price! Cars also in for paint tomorrow so hopefully i'll have it back for Sunday. Speak soon fellas.
  15. Nice one fella! Left my data cable at work so I'll post em up when I get back from Hols a week on Tuesday. All I'll say is "what a top show" and those that couldn't make it really missed a good'un. Company was second to none along with the cars. See ya in a week!
  16. Yea Justin, there is a prize for best stand. I'm also picking up three ramps tomorrow to display some cars on and Tommo is bringing up a marquee with him. Shame your gonna be sat on the show and shine all day as I was kinda hoping to feature your car. !sad
  17. Nice one guys! They are weighed down by the cassettes on the bottom and have a folding pole at the back to keep them upright. The print is on durable vinyl and will stand rain, snow, wind, or whatever you throw at them. Whenever you put them away the print just spring rolls back into the cassette and you pop the folded poles into the bottom. They are so easy to carry around and will fit in the boot of any car.
  18. Yea, it is Johns MK2. But it was a big pic I had, he's a member and it is technically a relation to us!
  19. OK guys for those of you not attending the VW Festival this weekend and a preview for those that are. I have had these printed (I put the missis in to give you an idea of scale). I havent had much time recently as work has been completely stupid over the last month, but I put in an evening or so and I called in a favour or two. I have the cassetts on lone and will have to pay for the print at some stage or so. I can get the whole lot very cheap if a small amount of people would like to chip a tenner or so they can belong to the club and raise the profile of us ten fold at shows. Please let me
  20. Yes Justin, yours is one of those nine!
