  1. Standard ZR2 is 6psi and you won't be able to just 'Bolt on and go'. £350-£400 Remap, front engine mount and deffo exhaust is required and i'd also recommend an oil cooler. Expect a realistic 250-260bhp without water injection.
  2. This has been discussed so many times mate and to be fair final conclusions have usually been 'It's not worth it'. If you're gonna do an engine transplant, do it to the same model vehicle as the cost and time needed to replace all the parts from a VR6 to say a Colour Concept is just not worth it.
  3. I just cant get my head around the Scooby stylists!! What the hell have they done? It's quite honestly one of the most ugliest cars I've ever had the misfortune to look at! Same old story really, top running gear packaged by the same old poor Japanese design, will they ever get it right?
  4. Nice work fella, look forward to seeing them.
  5. To be fair why buy a 2.8 and worry about the fuel it uses when the cost of fuel in the UK is the 6th highest per gallon in europe at the moment? Driving a VR6 for 10mins will surely coke the thing up over time as it'll never warm up, surely your not going to enjoy the car driving it around at 2,000 rpm in 5th worrying about how much driving it is going to cost you. I'm lucky if I get 20 to the gallon on the way to work, however mpg wasn't at the top of the spec sheet when I walked into VW!!
  6. Hummm 'Primary School' i'd be careful hanging around there at home time fellas!! Especially the Girls entrance!! Looking good guys, i'm popping down for the first time in ages to visit the folks at the end of the month. Ah good old 'Swilly' land cant beat it! May see you about
  7. Just got to VW and ask for one. All they'll do is look it up on screen and you can say yes thats the one I want. Either that or just go to GSF and buy a pattern, if your cars low your best off spending less as it'll only end up getting battered to hell anyway.
  8. You wont need to worry about the air intake if your charging it fella as you'll be loosing everything before the MAF anyway. Unless your thinking about changing the inlet manifold for a short one at all?
  9. Doubt you'll notice any difference to be fair mate. Although if it's your bag, it does sound nice and raspy. Upgrade your front engine mount too as they have a tendency to crack if there is excessive engine movement. Some also recommend wrapping them as they give off loads of ambient heat - depends if your serious about tuning or want it for looks alone. I had one ready to go on my old charged VR but never bothered fitting it, as there are so many threads on forums about if they actually gain anything at all. Try searching VW Vortex, as there was a very interesting thread about the whole thing
  10. Awesome build Kristian! Can't wait to see some videos of it

  12. Anyway shouldn't you be picking up a car? :-# All in good time fella, all in good time (2 hours actually!!) Anyway, enough of this selfish thread hijacking. The VR looks 100% better Paul, shame about the rear arches fella cant wait to see the new rims in action.
  13. Shame he's not actually in it!! lol
  14. God, you can tell VR6 owners are getting younger!!
  15. I destroyed my cat and exhaust when I fitted my charger mate. Get it done b4 mapping.
  16. I've got Wiseco forged 83mm ones in mine with standard compression. Before I fitted the charger one thing I noticed was that the induction roar was twice as loud! It sounded bloody mental! To be fair, you wont notice any massive performance increase though if at all. Rings are always a slut on a vr anyway because of the angle of the bore. The garage did a ring fitting my pistons and had to buy a new set. Have fun!
  17. The Americans have been running 3.0 turbod vr's for years but I think rebuilds are common. I had my VR rebored to 2.9 two years ago and considered 3.0 but the bores become far too thin imo. You could however do it properly and use a stroker kit, but the VR engine is now an old piece of kit and I'd think long and hard about spending over 2k having a rebore and stroker kit fitted just to get a small amout of NA power out of it. Certainly not worth it imo unless you are a mechanic and can do the majority of work yourself.
  18. Sweet Jesus, is it worth it? Fair play if it's just a bit of fun though.

How many times has this come up?!! Does no one use the search button? Yes it will fit theoretically with more grief than its worth, I reckon the belt would need to be over a foot long! Plus I'm unsure if any decent gains are to be had over doing it the proper way with the correct charger. You'll end up spending more money in the long run.
  20. Why would you let a stranger take your car for a test drive without you? Seems bizarre to me.
  21. Sorry fella, didn't mean to hijack your thread! Gotta be DSG whatever, I drove an SMG M3 over Christmas and the difference between the two is amazing. The SMG seems almost agricultural!!
