  1. It will deffo shorten the life span of the engine. Head gasket will go first. I hate oil in my car, it's so 'Dirty' but it's needed for a reason! Not that may 'Show' cars I've seen with no aux water pump either.

Got some you can have for £30 plus postage if you want them.
  3. It's not just age, but the whole postcode thing that seriously changes your insurance. I moved from one side of LS17 to another and it effected my policy. I'm on a 300bhp policy with Adrian Flux and it costs me £350 a year fully comp with agreed valuation of 6k. Car is garaged and on a limited mileage policy of 8,000 miles a year. Oh and I'm 30.
  4. Oh dear, a VR owner that doesn't no much about his engine! A garage may rape you if you go in and ask to change the timing belt! lol FYI The VR doesn't have a timing belt, it's chain driven and if the timing is out, your engine may be close to self destruction! Sounds like plugs or leads or both to me mate.
  5. Common on Milltek's I'm afraid, one of the worst fitting exhausts on a VR IMO. I've had mine completely cut and re-welded to make it fit correctly.
  6. That engine in a Mk3 would be a complete waste of time and money!!
  7. That engine in a Mk3 would be a complete waist of time and money!!
  8. I used mine as a daily up until last March. It's the coilovers that I couldn't live with every day.
  9. Ben it just seems far too much money to be spending for 260-300bhp. You'll only end up getting bored and want more boost! Mines charged and runs 270-280bhp, but the old girls not even a daily drive (my choice). It's going next year though, I've decided on something a little newer but will have to use every day. I'd much rather a sweet R with a map and high flow cats, you'll see good power for that combo, 250-260 bhp maybe.
  10. Hang on a sec, I take it you're not bothered about the upkeep of a 400bhp turbo'd VR engine and it won't be a daily driver? It's not a fact of just bolting on a turbo and away you go. Ask Jon (Millsy), It's cost him a fortune to do the conversion to the Syncro and he's done most of the work himself! (and it's still only running around 300-350bhp), as the 4x4 needs upgrading to take more power. I don't think he even thinks about MPG or how much it'll cost if the next thing breaks as he can just pull the engine out himself on a weekend. If you ask someone like Stealth to do the conversion you'r
  11. Marks Edition 30 REVO map is around 300bhp. The Edition 30 uses the new S3 engine with a smaller intercooler and a slightly lesser state of tune. Unfortunately with the DSG it's very hard to get a true BHP reading on a set of rollers. But I gave it a good spanking and it is amazing. No other car I know of that gives you that much bang for buck on a remap. Now I'm unsure of an R or an Ed30. :s
  12. They are an absolute fortune mate, I looked into it a while ago.
  13. MIne's in front of the rad, slap bang in the middle
  14. Looks nice fella. But it's getting a little too low, you're in danger of looking very 'Saxo'. Plus it wont handle correctly at that ride height. Good work though
  15. You don't necessarily need different spark plug tbh. I'm still on standard plugs and it mapped no problem. The pulley you will need is to fill the gap that the aircon pulley takes up on the belt. Your VR will take 400hp without any issues (apart from a head spacer! lol) so a measly 8psi and 290bhp will be a daily driver for years. The charger needs no servicing at the moment and the oil on a Vortech takes it's pickup from the engines oil so change it as often as you change the oil on the car. The most important thing is what exhaust you are running. As apart from what 'Mighty' says, is a dec
  16. Nice clean example mate. Only thing I would do though is put the badge on the grill on the right side!
  17. 4 hours to fit an oil cooler?!!!! LMFAO!! Whats Vince doing, fabricating the thing at the same time?!!
  18. It's only possible for that to be economical if you have a garage to do it yourself with all the jig gear and buy all the parts trade. Then also paint the car yourself imo.
  19. Usually from 3.30 fella. Be there for a good couple of hours or so.
  20. If there's no interest I'll change it fella.
  21. Names below please Not much response for this one then peps and it seems as though some would rather the 23rd so I've moved it (I've got to go to Colchester this weekend now any way).
