Ive decided to claim so ill let you all know when/if i get the chance to buy it back. The crash did happen about 2 miles from turners hill actually. Fun roads in the dry but with all the farm traffic a nightmare when its damp. I bought it with a cloth interior and was looking for leather on ebay but this has given me the chance to maybe upgrade to a highline so blessing in disguise hopefully.

Cheers everyone for the advice. The recovery co picked it up. Even though they denied it a mate drove past as they were doing it. Bent both doors and creased the roof!! I bought it for 2500 even with FVWSH and the other bits so got an absolute bargain, even had it AA checked, mint mechanicals. Think im going to have to break it, save up for a few months then think about upgrading to a highline. The money id fork out in premiums would be insane although i do have fully comp. Im definitely pursuing the recovery idiots for the damages they made. On the other hand i could claim, get 3k apparently

It wasnt completely standard. Magnex exhaust, koni shocks and eibach springs, cloth interior which i was planning to change, better discs and pads. It had full vw serive history adn only 67k on the clock. I could &|

Today was the first chance ive had to see it. The front left wheels bent back a bit, so maybe the subframes bent, the bonet, bumber and lights are gone and the icing on the cake..the recovery company creased the doors and the roof picking it up. Bastards. Im fuming. Ive only had one guy look at it and he said it wasnt worth it, small things like the bonnet and panels id change but i wouldnt be confident about the rest.

With a heavy heart i say, I crashed my beloved VR6 on sunday. I wasnt speeding or under any influence but hit a very slippy corner a little fast and the car spun it a bank of trees. The car didnt seem to bad but i was just happy that no one was hurt. Now ive been told the cars a right off. 2g to fix!!! So i was wondering what the best thing to do was, 1; Break it for parts, engine, gearbox and other pricey bits should be ok i think 2: Sell it in its damaged state 3: CLaim and ruin any chance of owning anything as nice as a vr for the foreseeable future. Any suggestions, thanks guys

Should work no probs on an external screen, as long as the resolution on that goes higher. It works on my laptop but you have to scroll around the screen to see the edges of the image.

Thanks acf , ive been checking ebay, typical there are none when i decide i want some but there were loads a few weeks ago! Thought maybe you new a breakers with some or something.

My 100k would definitely be well spent in the Aston dealers, apparently the upcoming AM v8 laps the Nurburgring quicker than a GT3! Thats pretty quick for a standard car, and if they come out at 60k i could get a tvr. DB9s arent bad either IMO. ;-)

acf8181 im not thinking of going full leather at the moment too expensive but recaros for £300 would be step in the right direction. Have you seen some around, you said they were easy to get hold of? Cheers

Arrgh ok. Straight down my local dealers in the morning then. Dont think i broke it, the rubber seems to have perished. Thanks a lot for the help.

Hi all. Two things really. I was having a little poke around in the engine bay before, as you do after washing polishing for hours etc etc. Id removed the cone from the air filter after reading about it on different forums, havent had a chance to test it yet but what do people think about it? ?! Free mod said to be worth 5 horses. After putting it all back together i noticed a strange whistling/sucking noise coming from a part just to the left of the main engine block. It looks like something snapped or sheared through leaving a pipe open. Very worrying. Looks like a fuel pump but smaller
