  1. It all depends on what you're after really, if you want to be able to dictate the exact height you want your car to sit at, then you want coilovers. The FK konigs have Koni TA inserts to adjust the comfort to your liking, I have a set and they're spot on. In terms of handling, the biggest improvement will come from fitting Eibach or Neuspeed anti-roll bars.
  2. It is indeed, although having to "break in" to the local VW dealer to use their Vag Com machine wasn't so easy, had to use a cable tie on the throttle cable to make it idle. Got there though.
  3. Found the problem, one of the wires on the throttle body plug had worn a bit, replaced that, removed the fault, car's running fine. Thanks for the help...
  4. Drove my car home at 2am last night, everything was fine. Went to drive it 10 minutes ago, fired up fine, as soon as I took my foot off the gas, the revs just died, and it keeps doing it, need to keep my foot on the gas to keep the engine running. Almost crashed it trying to take it round the block when it died midway through a corner and the power steering shut down. Anyone have an idea what's wrong? !sad

  6. Fill a medium sized cardboard box with human/anical excrement and send it to him and imagine the look on his face when he opens it. I'm being serious btw.
  7. Yep, but you're better off with long indicators, that way you can pop them off to access the towing eye bit. If you have the long fog, you'd need to unscrew the fixings, and pull it out, etc. Car looks nice though.
  8. i've got one of the Ram Air ProRam's, it came with a bracket to attach to the turret.
  9. Phone up HIC, say you seen their ad on the Matey Matey site, say you go to GTi interntaional and subscribe to PVW and you'll get big disounts. I'm 22 with 4 points on my license and I'm £850 fully comp on my Highline.
  10. Who quoted you that for a Supersprint? Is it gold plated or something? I was £480 for my system including VAT and fitting. They're well worth paying an extra hundred quid or so for in my opinion, you'll benefit in the long run.
  11. I got all the stuff directly from the Meguiars website, seems as good a place to start as any.
  12. You can get the metal tool from http://www.wires4cars.com in the US, but they're more than happy to send to the UK and pay via PayPal. Their custom HT leads are shít hot too.
  13. Turn headlight knob to the on position and pull. One notch for front fogs, all the way for front and rear.
  14. Bedrock Veedubs in Motherwell are damn good, I'd go there if I were you.
  15. Supersprint are the best you can buy IMO. The fit is only matched by standard ones, and the note isn't overpowering either so you won't be mistaken for a chav.
  16. Yes, but the first owner of the car for some strange reason thought that the earlier bump strips and arches would look better wit hthe ABT splitter and side skirts. I'll be rectifying his poor judgement very soon.
  17. I got a set already colour coded to the colour of my car for £40 off someone advertising a car they were breaking on eBay. Just keep your eyes peeled and something will come up eventually.
  18. I bought my car in October, and I've just worked out I've spent over £9000 in total including buying it and insuring it. That's a sore one.

Bollocks to that then, I'll just get a cheap set of a scrap yard or something to practice on first.

    Clocks

If I were to put a different set of clocks into my car, would the other ones display the proper mileage, etc? I'm wanting to get rid of the green display and modernise my clocks a bit, but don't fancy mutilating the ones that are in my car in case I mess it up.
  21. I get about 28mpg driving it conservatively on main roads, 19mpg giving it death on main roads and about 22mpg driving around town. I get about 150 miles out of a tank too, but I tend to be a bit enthusiastic with the throttle.
  22. An R32 interior is something I've been thinking about. I reckon it wouldn't be too much for a set of cloth Konig's, but dunno how easy/cheap it would be to take the cloth off, stick my heated seated seat elements and wiring, etc, in, and then get it re-trimmed in Mulberry leather.
  23. My car sometimes makes a creaking kinda noise from the engine after i turn it off after a bit of hard driving, doesn't last too long though, I wouldn't worry about it.
